Bride Lauren Sanchez Bezos reveals wedding secrets from her very apt ‘something blue’ to why she changed her gown design as she gushes ‘I am the luckiest woman on the planet! after marrying Jeff Bezos

Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos gasped when he set eyes on Lauren Sanchez in her stunning bespoke Dolce & Gabbana gown, the bride has revealed to Vogue magazine, as she gushed she felt like ‘the luckiest woman on the planet’.

After a two-year engagement, the pair finally wed in a multi-day, multi million dollar Venetian celebration – with the bride making sure she stuck to a number of nuptial traditions such as including a very unique ‘something blue’ in her wedding ensemble.

Fashion magazine used a photograph of the former TV presenter wearing her lavish Dolce & Gabbana gown as it featured the 55-year-old as its digital cover girl for its June edition.

In the image, Sanchez showed off her stunning wedding dress, which contained lacy, floral sleeves, a tight bodice, high neckline, long flowing skirt with an enormous train, and buttons down the front.

The glamorous, figure-hugging number showcased her stunning physique. The blushing new bride’s long brown tresses were pulled back behind a vail and she wore striking makeup. 

Sanchez posed in the exquisite frock for a pre-wedding photoshoot with Vogue magazine. 

While chatting with the publication, she recalled feeling like a ‘princess’ during her dress fitting, which took place in Milan, Italy.

‘It was more powerful than I thought,’ she added of the moment she put it on for the first time.

She also revealed that Bezos had begged to see her in the gown, but as is tradition for most brides, she explained that she wasn’t going to let him lay his eyes upon it until the big day.

‘I almost gave in,’ she admitted. ‘But I want it to be a surprise. As you get a little older, not many things surprise you. I can’t wait to see his face.’ 

This was not the only tradition the couple stuck with: Sanchez also donned ‘something borrowed’ for the ceremony – a pair of Dolce earrings.

And she explained to Vogue what her unusual (but very apt) ‘something blue’ was.

Sanchez revealed that she took a ‘secret souvenir up in the rocket’ when she travelled to Space recently on the Blue Origin flight so she could bring it back for the wedding. 

This was because ‘it was literally one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Seeing Earth from space, I came down and I couldn’t describe it. It was the greatest experience I’ve ever had’.

Sanchez added: ‘Jeff said, “It’s gonna change you more than you think”, and it completely has, visually, spiritually.’

After the nuptials, the bride was quick to change her Instagram username to include her new name, swapping it to @laurensanchezbezos and wiping out all of her old posts.

Just an hour later, she followed up with some behind-the-scenes snaps of her wedding gown.

In a carousel post, the former journalist was seen standing inside a decadent room in Venice, wearing the high-neck lace dress and showing off its dramatic silhouette.

The second photo, a black and white image, showed Lauren and her team helping her get into the gown, while the third image featured designer Domenico Dolce placing the lace veil on her head.

She tagged the team behind her look, which included Rick Henry, Laura Mele, Iram Shelton and Jamie Mizrahi. 

‘Not just a gown, a piece of poetry,’ she captioned the post. ‘Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made.’ 

Described as the ‘wedding of the century,’ the 61-year-old Amazon founder and 55-year-old former journalist exchanged vows in front of almost 200 VIP guests on San Giorgio Maggiore island on Friday. 

Their lavish multi-day wedding celebration is estimated to have cost them a reported $20 million.

A slew of their famous friends including Gayle King, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump, Orlando Bloom, Usher, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner, amongst others, attended their nuptials.

Guests at the luxurious affair were greeted to the sounds of trumpets, violins and a Gospel Choir when they arrived.

The choir also broke out into song again after the couple said ‘I do,’ belting out Whitney Houston’s Higher Love.

Guests were heard cheering and singing along during the touching moment.

Opera star Matteo Bocelli kicked off the couple’s wedding reception, opening up his set with the iconic Elvis Presley track I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.

The son of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli was called in as his dad is performing in concerts in southern Italy this weekend and couldn’t attend. 

Hours earlier, the award-winning journalist made her first appearance of the day when she was spotted leaving the five star Aman Hotel in a ladylike white Dior puff sleeve suit, paired with a head scarf and oversized sunglasses. 

She also appeared to show off a brand new enormous diamond ring for the occasion. 

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Jeff and Lauren had already married legally ahead of today’s ceremony on San Giorgio Maggiore island. 

They kicked off the weekend-long celebrations with a star-studded welcome dinner on Thursday evening at the Campo Della Madonna dell’Orto. 

But the billionaire couple and their A-list guests were forced to take cover from a freak thunderstorm during the pre-wedding party.

Lauren donned a shimmering $100,000 dress designed by Daniel Roseberry for the celebration.

The figure-hugging frock was embroidered with designs of swirling vines and florals in blue, green, and gold tones that were set against a champagne fabric. 

The stunning gown took a staggering 900 hours of atelier work – clearly reflected in its intricate design. 

A total of 180 tiny, hand-finished buttons, each covered in silk chiffon, lined the neckline and torso before continuing down the length of the train, as reported by Vogue.

‘The whole thing was like a dream,’ Sanchez told the outlet.

The pair are said to have rented out a number of places in the Italian city to celebrate the lavish nuptials.

An insider told DailyMail.com last week that San Georgio Maggiore island is largely ‘off-limits to visitors’ from June 24 to June 29.

The original plan was for a huge party at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia on Saturday night, but was moved to another venue in the Arsenale area of the city, according to local media. 

It’s been reported that following their ‘wedding of the century’ on Friday, the couple will throw another party for their A-list guests in Venice on Saturday.

An extravagant party is set for tonight in the Arsenale area of the city.

The billionaire Amazon founder and his then-fiancee were seen arriving in Venice on June 25, days ahead of their wedding.

They were dropped off by water taxi at the private jetty of the five star luxury Aman Hotel, where they were reportedly joined by around 50 other of their closest guests and friends.

After the wedding last night, guests were given souvenir gifts. While Bezos chose stylish ViBi Venezia blue velvet slippers for the gentleman guests, Sanchez gave the ladies black open-toe slippers from Amazon – seizing the opportunity to promote her billionaire husband’s e-commerce empire.

Late last night as the party wrapped, photographers captured Kim and Khloe Kardashian making a speedy getaway in a waiting water taxi.

The bleary-eyed sisters, true to form, posed for the cameras as the boat set sail – throwing up peace signs and making duck faces at the awaiting lenses.

A little while later, their supermodel sister Kendall Jenner made her own escape, weaving through the city’s canals and posing against the breathtaking backdrop of Italy’s finest architecture.

The wedding, held two years after Bezos proposed to Sanchez aboard his $500 million superyacht, was described as ‘extremely intimate’ with a strict no-phone policy – around 70 of the 200 guests were family members.

The only images that emerged of the nuptials came via Sanchez’s official Instagram account – and photos of guests leaving the night-time celebrations were scarce. 

During wedding week, Sanchez debuted her stunning Schwartz ring while stepping out in a Schiaparelli gown.

Courtesy of celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, the ring is believed to be around 30 carats – valued between $1.5 million and $3 million. 

‘We don’t have a lot of traditions that we’re keeping,’ Sanchez told Vogue ahead of the big day. ‘I mean, I love traditions, but for a 55-year-old woman, it’s a little different.’
