Amber Alert Boy Found Safe, Suspect in Custody

A 7-year-old California boy abducted on Thursday was found safe on Friday, and the man suspected of abducting him was in custody.

Michael Abbott, 42, was charged with kidnapping and child abduction, KGET reported.

Ridgecrest Police said Abbott is the boy’s foster parent but did not explain the circumstances surrounding the abduction.

An Amber Alert was issued and police began searching for a white GMC Acadia driven by Abbott.

Police said they used license plate cameras to track the vehicle’s movements and located it about an hour after the alert was issued.
