Man United boss Ruben Amorim has been targeting attacking reinforcements this summer

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign three free agent strikers this summer, as Ruben Amorim aims to bolster his attacking options.

The Red Devils have been looking for reinforcements following a dismal Premier League campaign, which saw them score just 44 goals in their 38 matches.

Mail Sport reported last week that Man United have five forwards on their shortlist this summer.

Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres is among their targets, but the forward appears to be edging closer to a £70million move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are among back-up options.

Man United face competition from Premier League rivals for Ekitike, while Osimhen’s wage demands are likely to scupper a potential move.

According to the Athletic, the Red Devils have also considered signing former Everton forward Moise Kean from Fiorentina, with the Italian international having a £45m release clause.

Should they be unable to land one of their main targets, the club could reportedly turn to one of a trio of former England internationals to provide depth to their front line.

The Red Devils have reportedly been offered the chance to sign former Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, ex-Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Callum Wilson, who left Newcastle on Monday.

Vardy left Leicester City at the conclusion of last season as the Foxes were relegated from the Premier League.

The veteran forward, now 38, scored 200 goals in 500 appearances the club and was a central figure in their shock Premier League title win in 2016.

Vardy, who also earned 26 England caps, scored nine goals in 35 Premier League matches last season.

Wilson, 33, has spent a decade in the Premier League at Bournemouth and Newcastle, netting 88 goals in 239 appearances in the top flight.

The forward has been dogged by injuries in recent seasons, leading to him being limited to just 22 matches last season, with only three being starts for the Magpies.

Wilson ended the Premier League season without a goal to his name, with a strike against Birmingham City in the FA Cup his only one of the campaign.

HOW THE FREE AGENTS COMPARE
Name  Age   Appearances in 2024-25 Goals
Jamie Vardy  38  36 matches, 36 starts 10 (9 Premier League, one FA Cup)
Callum Wilson  33  22 matches, three starts  One (FA Cup)
Dominic Calvert-Lewin 28 26 matches, 19 starts  Three (Premier League)

He had played an important role in helping Newcastle avoid relegation prior to their takeover, but has turned down a pay-as-you-play deal to stay at the club.

Calvert-Lewin, 28, last week confirmed he would be leaving Everton after nine seasons at the club where he scored 71 in 273 matches.

In total, Calvert-Lewis has scored 57 times in 239 Premier League matches.

The 11-cap England international said last month that he wants to be in a ‘winning environment’ having battled relegation with Everton in recent seasons.

Man United’s attack is set to be overhauled their summer with the arrival for Matheus Cunha from Wolves, while the club remain locked in talks with Brentford over Bryan Mbuemo.

Of their current squad, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho are poised to exit this summer.

The quartet and defender Tyrell Malacia were told to stay away from pre-season training last week because they want to leave the club.
