Iron Man Is Back and Better Than Ever in Early Look at 'Iron Man and His Awesome Friends' [Exclusive]

Shows like Spidey and His Amazing Friends, younger audiences have had their own introduction to heroes they know and love. Now, we have a new show coming out that gives fans a look into the Iron Family! Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends is getting ready to debut and bring audiences a younger Tony Stark who works with his friends, Riri Williams and Amadeus Cho, to bring tech to life and help keep people safe. Collider is excited to debut a new look at the series with a video short titled “Meet the IQ,” also known as the “Iron Quarters.”

In the short, we get to meet Iron Man, Ironheart, and Iron Hulk (with even a sneak peek at Iron Pup) who are excited to show off their suits and “invite audiences into their Iron Quarters (the beachfront homebase where they create new tech, practice their skills or just be a kid).” Much like Spidey and His Amazing Friends, the show has three iconic Marvel characters working together to show young fans what being a hero is all about. “The series stars Mason Blomberg as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Kapri Ladd as Riri Williams (Ironheart), Aidyn Ahn as Amadeus Cho (Iron Hulk), Tony Hale as Ultron, Vanessa Bayer as Swarm, and Talon Warburton as Absorbing Man.”

The “Meet the IQ” video short shows us just how Riri, Tony, and Amadeus are going to work together at IQ. But we also have other shorts to help us meet the team! “The shorts will introduce young audiences to the stories and main characters featured in the series, as well as the newly announced Captain America (Sam Wilson), Black Panther (T’Challa) and Iron Spider (Aña Corazon), whom the Iron Friends call on when they need a helpful hand in taking on super baddies or just want to have a fun adventure.” All of the shorts will be released starting on Monday, July 14, across Disney Jr., Disney Jr. YouTube and Marvel HQ YouTube, with all 10 shorts available, Tuesday, July 15, on Disney+.

The Iron Team Has Some Great Gadgets!

As is the case with Tony Stark, the Iron gang has plenty of gadgets for fans to get to see! We have some exclusive images of some of the skills that Tony, Amadeus, and Riri have! One special skill the crew has is the ability to fly, “With the power of their Iron Suit Boosters, the Iron Friends can take off and fly through the skies!” The Iron Team can use their boosters to help with flying “and even give them an extra boost of power when they call out ‘Boosters to the max!'” Their suits also have Repuslors that “release powerful beams of laser-like energy, known as Repulsors, from the glowing core in their gauntlets. Repulsors Ready!”

If their Repulsors aren’t enough, their suits also have Arc Reactor Blasts, which are “even more powerful repulsor that blasts out from the Arc Reactor in each of the Iron Friend’s chest plates.” And, as did Tony Stark in Iron Man and Riri Williams in Ironheart, all their suits come with a Heads-Up Display to help the team take on the bad guys.

If that wasn’t enough, Tony, Riri, Amadeus, and Iron Pup all have their very own special skills as well! Tony has a Nano-Shield that he calls out for and it creates a shield using the same nano material as his suit. Ironheart has “Heartbeat Bubble” that is a forcefield she can use to protect others. Iron Hulk has the “Iron Boom” which is when he claps his hands together, “creating a powerful soundwave to knock baddies off their feet!” And finally, Iron Pup uses the “Iron Bark” and it “releases an extra powerful bark that sends baddies flying!”

The show is described as follows: “The series follows the adventures (and misadventures) of best friends and super geniuses — Tony Stark, Riri Williams and Amadeus Cho — as they work together to solve problems, both big and small, and protect their city. In order to help them save the day, the Iron Friends each have their own Iron Suits that allow them to fly and give them enhanced super-strength.” The series “is executive produced by Sean Coyle and Harrison Wilcox. James Eason-Garcia is co-executive producer and story editor; Alex Cichon is supervising producer; Ashley Rideout is producer; and Michael Dowding is supervising director. Matthew Margeson is the series’ composer. The series is produced by Disney Jr. and Marvel Studios in association with Atomic Cartoons.”

Get ready to meet the team on Iron Man and his Awesome Friends. Leading up to the series premiere, a batch of animated shorts titled “Meet Iron Man and his Awesome Friends” will begin to roll out on Monday, July 14, across Disney Jr., Disney Jr. YouTube and Marvel HQ YouTube, with all 10 shorts landing on, Tuesday, July 15, on Disney+. “Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends,” the first animated Iron Man preschool series, premieres Monday, Aug. 11, on Disney Jr. (8:30 a.m. ET/PT) and later that day on Disney Channel.
