Apple TV+’s Epic Sci-Fi Thriller Series Clings to Streaming Charts 5 Months After Season 2 Ended

Apple TV+ has some of the biggest names in television and one of their most critically acclaimed series is dominating the platform’s streaming charts. Severance, which premiered Season 2 back in January with the finale airing on March 21. Since, the show has remained in the top of Apple TV+’s streaming charts with Severance ranking 5th as recent as this week, a full five months after the show came to an end and even longer since the series returned for Season 2. The Adam Scott led series is still being talked about as the cast and creative team are doing the rounds for Emmy consideration currently.

Severance is about Lumon Industries, a company that uses the “severed” program for its employees. The idea is that you have two distinct personalities: Your innie and your outie. Your innie is your work persona. When your outie goes to work and you step into the elevator, your life outside of the office is suddenly forgotten and you only know the walls of Lumon. Which probably is great for your employer but, as the show explains, your innie personality wants to know what life outside is like and Lumon’s secrets threaten to spill out. All hidden behind Ben Stiller‘s direction.

The mystery of the show does warrant a rewatch of the series from time to time but the buzz around Season 2 of the series has propelled it to the top of the streaming charts since its release. Scott is joined in the series by Britt Lower, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, and more and it is no surprise that the show continues to do as well as it is. We did wait years for the second season.

Adam Scott Has Always Been Television’s Best

Scott has been a staple on television for decades, starting back as Griff in Boy Meets World. But he went on to, years later, star as Henry Pollard in Party Down and, famously, starred as Benjamin Wyatt on the hit NBC series Parks and Recreation. Most of his work had been more comedic or he starred as the husband to Reese Witherspoon‘s leading lady in the HBO series Big Little Lies. But even through all those roles, he didn’t get the recognition for his work the way that Severance has afforded him. Now, he is an Emmy nominated actor for his work on the series and the show’s streaming success shows us that people still want to dive into Lumon.

You can see Scott star in Severance on Apple TV+.
