Stacey Solomon has been nominated for two National Television Awards this year after her rant following her bruising defeat at the BAFTAs in May.

The presenter, 35, had been up for a gong for her BBC show Sort Your Life Out in the Factual Entertainment category ahead of the ceremony.

However, she lost out to Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder’s programme Grand Tour – with the star later revealing she was ‘gutted’ and her team ‘deserved’ to scoop the award.

Now, Stacey has been nominated for two prestigious awards at this year’s NTAs as the shortlist is officially revealed.

The busy mum-of-five is nominated in the Best Presenter category, where she faces stiff competition from Ant and Dec, Alison Hammond, Claudia Winkleman and Gary Lineker.

Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, 49, have a long-running streak of bagging the award, with last year’s win marking their 23rd honour.

Meanwhile, Stacey is also nominated in the Factual Entertainment category for her fly-on-the-wall reality show with husband Joe Swash.

The series, which aired earlier this year, gave an insight into the couple’s relationship as they navigated a rocky patch in their marriage by seeking therapy.

Fans also saw their children – Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two, and Stacey’s sons Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 12, from previous relationships.

It proved a hit with viewers and the BBC previously confirmed a second series of the show is on the way and due to hit screens next year.

Following her BAFTA loss in May, devastated Stacey told her followers on Instagram: ‘I’m not handling it very well, I’m not taking it very gracefully – I’m devastated! I’m devastated for our whole team, like I’m so gutted for our team.

‘Everyone got dressed up and was really hopeful, I think because they work so hard. It’s not an easy show to make, Sort Your Life Out and the team work so hard to make it happen and they so deserve the BAFTA.

‘The Sort Your Life Out team deserved a BAFTA and I’m devastated. I’m not saying that everyone else didn’t deserve their BAFTAs, they absolutely did.

‘People think making TV is really easy and it’s not, so everyone deserves recognition. But I’m just gutted for my whole Sort Your Life Out family because I feel like they deserved a BAFTA. I’m gonna say it – I’m gutted!’

Her post-awards rant didn’t go down well with her fan base at the time, as some accused the star of having ‘sour grapes’.

They shared online: ‘Sounds like sour grapes to me. This is such a boring show, only watched one and all the rest were the same . Should be happy to have a nomination, not sure why it was!’

‘Why would she think that she deserves a BAFTA?’; ‘There’s no justice when someone can’t get a bafta for cleaning cupboards out ffs.’

‘A strange mix of admirable honesty and complete entitlement.’; ‘Get over yourself love. Not everyone wins – there’s a lesson there for you.’

This year’s National Television Awards will take place at the O2 Arena in London with Joel Dommett returning as host.

Voting is open now ahead of the star-studded ceremony on Wednesday, September 10, which will be screened live on ITV1.

Unlike the BAFTAs, the public are the sole deciders of who comes out on top on the night.
