Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could be set to make a nine-figure fortune with their upcoming wedding thanks to photo exclusives and licensing – but doing so could harm their reputation.
The loved-up pop singer and the NFL star, both 35, sent the globe into meltdown on Tuesday when they announced their engagement with a romantic photoshoot which showed Kelce proposing in a rose garden.
While the couple will no doubt be looking forward to their happily-ever-after, it’s expected that they could also rake in millions of dollars as they prepare to say ‘I do.’
Leading international expert in reputation, brand and political strategy, Eric Schiffer, weighed in on what the pair could be set to make with their hotly anticipated big day – but stressed that cashing in could harm their brand.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail, he said: ‘The bag is real and is north of $110 million, but the reputational tax is a killing machine, and I trust they will balance that wisely.
‘There’s money on the table, but the power move leaves most of it there and charges double for the director’s cut.
‘Anything that smells like pandering is tone‑deaf brand arson. They will do quality or nothing, and they both have high brand IQ so the chance of them pandering is like aliens landing at their wedding.
‘With discipline, they can do low nine figures over 24 to 36 months without selling a single seat cover.’

Schiffer argues that Taylor, who is already listed as a billionaire, will be able to grow her wealth exponentially following her wedding – and on her own terms and at her own tempo.
‘A tasteful post‑wedding documentary is lunch money at this level, but it’s prestige that compounds pricing power,’ he said.
‘If she went shameless and priced every petal, the market would buy it, yet she won’t, and that restraint is worth far more.’
And Schiffer notes that Swift and Kelce ought to tread carefully.
‘The real payday is narrative control. Albums, films, tours, and platforms price that aura.
‘Kelce expands her reach without diluting her rate card and together the couple brand widens the moat.
‘The real risk is the opportunistic swarm trying to cash in around them and they need continued velvet‑rope triage with automatic weapons loaded and ready.
‘The richest outcome isn’t the wire transfer, it’s the reputational fortress that prints money for a decade.’

The lovers were dating for two years before they officially revealed their marriage news on Tuesday.
Swift captioned the sweet post: ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’
The Grammy winner also revealed her mammoth diamond engagement ring in the post – the stunning band is an Old Mine Brilliant Cut and appears to be from Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry. It is worth an estimated $675,000 to $1 million.
The star shared the post on her Instagram, set to the ballad So High School, which is about her enduring love for Kelce, who got down on one knee earlier this month.
Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in September 2023 when the singer appeared alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna, at a Kansas City Chiefs game.
Since that day their romance has captivated the world, with Swift supporting Kelce’s run to two Super Bowls while the NFL star has traveled alongside her around the globe on her wildly successful Eras Tour.
The engagement news comes almost two weeks after Swift announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, on the Kelce brothers’ podcast, New Heights.
In her most candid chat ever, Swift admitted she thought Kelce was ‘crazy’ for asking her out so publicly.
The sportsman famously spoke on his podcast about attending one of Swift’s concerts in July 2023 and being disappointed when they couldn’t meet, revealing he’d even brought a friendship bracelet to give to her.
She compared Kelce to a John Hughes movie character, joking he was outside her window with a boombox yelling: ‘I wanna date you! Do you wanna go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet. Do you wanna date me?’
Swift said: ‘I was like, if this guy isn’t crazy — which is a big if — this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.’
