Bravo fans love their shows, so when it was revealed that two of its biggest series, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and Below Deck Down Under, would join forces, the hype was high. With a peek into the adventure seen in the Season 6 trailer, fans were given a glimpse of what’s to come. That being said, Meredith Marks recently revealed that she loved the experience, but did not love the cameras in the bedroom.
The RHOSLC star shared that it was an entirely different animal. “It was fun. It was a little bit different for us because it was different from what we are used to,” she told US Weekly, specifically calling out the cameras in the bedroom, “I can’t say I love that part of it.” Though it may be a shocking comment coming from the star of a show whose life has been filmed for six seasons, Meredith isn’t known for scenes inside her bedroom which shows how two reality series from the same network have a completely different vibe.
‘The Real Housewives’ Series are Filmed Differently Than ‘Below Deck’
Bravo’s Real Housewives have a little more control over how scenes are filmed in terms of cameras following them into their bed and bathrooms, whereas Below Deck producers station cameras in every room to capture the drama. While Meredith enjoyed the Below Deck experience, having a camera in her bedroom was a departure from her experience filming reality TV.
Though we may not know who shares a cabin with Meredith, her tease suggests there could be drama on board, which may have led to filming in the sleeping quarters. With the food as one of the highlights of the trip, Meredith said, “It was a fabulous trip and the whole crossover thing was cool to do.”
With the highly anticipated RHOSLC X BDDU crossover event only weeks away, it marks the first time a full Housewives cast will appear for a Below Deck charter. It is not, however, the first time Housewives have chartered a yacht on Below Deck. RHOSLC star Heather Gay was on Below Deck Adventure. RHOC‘s Alexis Bellino appeared on season 7 of Below Deck while celebrating her divorce. Cynthia Bailey and Claudia Jordan of RHOA appeared during Season 3 of the flagship series. Kary Brittingham from The Real Housewives of Dallas was part of a Below Deck Mediterranean Season 2 charter. Most recently, the Below Deck crew were given the full Jill Zarin experience during Season 11.
‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ Season 6 Is Highly Anticipated
Fresh off their victory of “Best Way To Ride With Your Bitches” at Las Culturistas Culture Awards, the Season 5 cast returns and back for more in Season 6. The season featured many shifting alliances, major confrontations, the rise of Angie K., newfound bonds between Mary and newcomer Bronwyn Newport, and catchphrases that took social media by storm.
The Season 6 sneak peek trailer promised a season of plenty of drama, camp, and hijinks. The snowflake-holders will be traveling around the globe, trading their Sprinter van for an RV, flying first class to Greece, and even sailing the seas on a yacht. Set up like a Greek tragedy, the ladies will be vacillating between tears and shouting matches as they face secrets, lies, and fears, while hunting for the “truth.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns to Bravo on Tuesday, September 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. All episodes are available to stream on Peacock.
