Max Dowman won a penalty as he featured for England Under-19s in a 3-3 draw with Spain

Arsenal starlet Max Dowman is continuing to break records while on international duty with England Under-19s.

It has been a hugely eventful start to the season for the 15-year-old, who became the second youngest player in Premier League history (behind Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri) when he featured as a substitute against Leeds.

Dowman also came off the bench against Liverpool last weekend and has been included in Arsenal’s Champions League squad.

Having previously impressed for England Under-17s, Dowman was promoted to the Three Lions’ Under-19 squad for this month’s fixtures.

In midweek Dowman came on against Ukraine and in doing so became the youngest ever player to feature for England Under-19s since the age group was introduced in the 2001-02 season.

Dowman was subsequently given his first start for the Under-19s against Spain and proceeded to win a penalty in a 3-3 draw. His involvement saw him become the youngest starter for the Under-19s.

The youngster was frequently fouled by opposition players but continued to push forwards with regularity.

Dowman has developed a penchant for winning penalties – he did so in two pre-season games for Arsenal and also against Leeds.

England Under-19s have one game remaining in this set of fixtures as they face the Netherlands on Tuesday.

Dowman previously played five times for England at Under-16 level before scoring five goals in 16 games for the Under-17s.

It will be intriguing to see how many senior appearances Dowman makes for Arsenal this season.

With Bukayo Saka out injured, opportunities to feature as a substitute on the right flank may arise for Dowman.

He could also potentially be given a start when Arsenal face Port Vale away in the Carabao Cup on September 24.
