Joe Burrow was seen in pain after being sacked by Arik Armstead in the second quarter

The extent of Joe Burrow’s foot injury has been revealed after the Bengals quarterback was ruled out of his team’s win over the Jaguars.

Burrow limped out of the game and went to the locker room after taking a sack in the second quarter.

Now, it’s been reported by Fox 19’s Jeremy Rauch that the passer has turf toe with torn ligaments.

Rauch added that the ‘expectation’ is that Burrow, 28, would miss several weeks of action.

Burrow was seen in pain roughly midway through the second quarter as he sat on the ground and received medical attention.

He had gone to the ground moments before in awkward fashion after being sacked by Arik Armstead, causing him to slam his helmet on the ground in frustration.

He ultimately needed assistance to walk off of the field as he was replaced by backup Jake Browning.

And Browning was productive in relief of Burrow, throwing for 241 yards and two touchdowns (against three interceptions) as Cincinnati pulled off a 31-27 win.

Burrow is two seasons removed from a ligament injury in his right wrist which costed him the final seven games of the season.

He was able to stay healthy for all 17 games last year, though the Bengals missed the playoffs as their defense consistently bled points.

The Bengals have a difficult stretch of games coming up as they’ll face the Vikings, Broncos, Lions and Packers over the next four weeks.
