The bodies of a woman and child have been found at a luxury Airbnb in an affluent Brisbane suburb.
Police made the grim discovery while conducting a welfare check at the address in Kenmore Hills at about 12.45pm on Monday.
The pair are believed to be a mother and her young daughter. Their bodies were found outside the home.
The sprawling gated property was declared a crime scene as a major police investigation was launched.

Authorities are treating the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide.
Police have made no arrests and are not looking for any other suspects at this stage.
‘Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public,’ a police statement read.

The property has been an Airbnb since at least 2023 after it was sold a year earlier for $2.5million, The Courier Mail reported.
The single level three bedroom home located on 2.5 acre block is listed online for almost $1,000 a night, with a five-night minimum.
It’s listed on Airbnb as a relaxing, beautifully quiet and peaceful luxury home which backs onto Mt Coot-tha National Park.
A stunning infinity pool in the backyard overlooks frangipani trees and woodlands.
‘You’ll probably even see kangaroos in the garden some evenings,’ the listing states.
Located on the foothills of Mount Coot-tha in Brisbane’s west, Kenmore Hills is regarded as an affluent suburb.
With a median house price of $1.35million, Kenmore Hills ranks fifth among Brisbane’s suburbs with the largest average block closest to the CBD.
It’s also considered the city’s most held-onto suburb, where homeowners hold onto their properties for an average 21 years.
Forensic officers spent hours at the home gathering evidence
Detectives and forensic officers remained at the scene well into the night investigating the circumstances and gathering evidence.
Shocked locals in the leafy suburb told Seven News that they were oblivious to the tragedy until they noticed emergency vehicles in the street.
