Kmart Australia’s highly anticipated festive season décor range has landed in store.
And there’s one particular Christmas décor item that has already been singled out by several Kmart superfans.
The standout piece? The Light Up Ceramic Gingerbread Book Store, priced at $12.
The charming trinket, which depicts a book shop with adjoining cafe, is part of a range of several miniature ceramic gingerbread stores. Also available are a matching light-up Patisserie and Toy Shop, both priced at $12 each.
Together, they can be combined to create a whimsical Christmas village.
Matt Hey was among the early festive season shoppers to visit Kmart and spot the must-have decoration.
‘Dangerous things are about to happen because I’m in the Kmart Christmas section,’ the content creator said at the start of a recent TikTok video, which has been viewed over 357,000 times.
The Aussie comedian revealed he’d walked into Kmart only minutes after store workers had stocked the shelves with seasonal merchandise. ‘I’m here to take it all!’ he added with a laugh.

Matt immediately noted that the overall vibe of this year’s Kmart Christmas décor was ‘starting off strong’, with one of the first items to stop him in his tracks being the Light Up Ceramic Gingerbread Book Store.
‘Oh my god, the Book Store. You’re joking,’ he exclaimed in the video shared to his @alright.hey TikTok account. ‘Like, imagine that on the bookshelf.’
‘I better get the Patisserie as well, he added, picking up the matching piece.
‘They’ve got a whole village. I could do a whole village,’ Matt added.

Like Matt, Kate observed in a TikTok video shared to her @Dedikatedlifestyle account that Kmart’s Christmas decorative items had levelled up in 2025.
‘I really feel like Kmart is giving luxe, it’s giving elevated,’ she said in the just minute-long video. ‘Kind of like Adairs, Pillow Talk, David Jones vibes’
