Trent Brown #77 of the Las Vegas Raiders looks on against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Houston Texans announced a flurry of roster moves ahead of their Week 5 showdown against the Baltimore Ravens. Veteran offensive tackle Trent Brown signing from the practice squad to the 53-man roster headlined the news, but the Texans were not done.
They also announced they were placing a key veteran on injured reserve and adding two others to their game-day roster. That includes another Super Bowl champion.
Both additions have previous connections to Brown.
Texans Announce Trent Brown, Jalen Mills, & Damon Arnette Roster Moves

GettyJalen Mills #35 of the New York Jets looks on after facing the Seattle Seahawks.
“We have signed Trent Brown to the active roster from the practice squad and made other roster moves,” the Texans posted on X, making their move on the former San Francisco 49ers seventh-round pick (2015) and 2018 New England Patriots Super Bowl champion official.
Initial reports emerged about Brown’s new status on Friday.
However, the Texans also announced on Saturday that they were elevating two defensive backs – corner Damon Arnette and safety Jalen Mills – from their practice squad.
Mills was a seventh-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016. He won a Super Bowl with the franchise in 2017 and was teammates with Brown on the Patriots from 2021 through 2023. He has started 91 of 115 career games.
Mills has logged 450 total tackles, 8 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 1 recovery, and 1.5 sacks. He has yet to play this season, but has spent time with the New York Giants and Jets.
Arnette has not played in an NFL regular-season game since 2021.
Damon Arnette to Make NFL Regular-Season Return

GettyDamon Arnette #41 of the Houston Texans celebrates after a missed field goal against the Carolina Panthers.
Arnette was the No. 19 overall pick of the 2020 draft by the Las Vegas Raiders, inking a four-year, $13.4 million rookie-scale deal. He has started seven of 13 games played during his career, which spans six years, including his time out of the league.
He has logged 29 total tackles, 1 stop for loss, and 4 passes deflections, and he has shown an ability to make an impact on special teams as well as defense.
Arnette has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.
Like Mills, Arnette will have two more call-ups before the Texans must sign him to the 53-man roster to play him again. In that case, the veteran cornerback would join his former Raiders teammate from the 2020 season, Brown.
Texans Place Folorunso Fatukasi on IR

GettyFolorunso Fatukasi’s return to the Houston Texans is an ominous sign for some of his current teammates.
The Texans did make one significant loss official before the Ravens game, placing defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. His absence will impact the Texans’ run defense the most.
The Texans figure to see a hefty dose of Ravens running back Derrick Henry in Week 5. Lamar Jackson is out, and career backup Cooper Rush is starting in his stead.
The Texans rank sixth against the pass, but are 12th in rushing yards allowed.
Henry ranks eighth with 284 rushing yards through four weeks, but his 5.8 yards per carry are the fourth most in the NFL. The Texans rank 18th in yards allowed per rushing attempt, but there is a silver lining to Henry accumulating carries.
He also leads the league in fumbles with 3. Henry recorded 1 fumble in each of the Ravens’ first three games of the season. That is encouraging for an opportunistic Texans defense.
