Developing: Georgia Teen Killed After Kicking Walmart Customer’s Shopping Cart

A Georgia man is facing murder charges following a fatal attack in October, at a Walmart store near Savannah.

Police arrested 48-year-old Delano Middleton on Thursday for an October 23 confrontation at a Walmart on Whitemarsh Island, around eight miles east of Savannah, according to the Chatham County Police Department.

Police said 18-year-old J.T. Schroeder kicked Middleton’s shopping cart as Middleton walked by; the encounter escalated and Middleton allegedly stabbed Schroeder multiple times.

Paramedics took Schroeder to a hospital, where he died the next day, WTOC 11 reports.

Police reportedly interviewed multiple people at the scene.

WJCL reports that Middleton has a criminal history, with previous arrests on aggravated assault, battery, and weapons charges.

Meanwhile, police said they will not be releasing additional information regarding the case at this time.

Middleton remains behind bars at the Chatham County Detention Center.
