Kim Kardashian’s famous last name appeared to work its magic for her family on the latest episode of The Kardashians.
The third episode of the seventh season featured the 45-year-old reality star–turned–actress taking her youngest child Psalm West to the studio to record a voice part for The Angry Birds Movie 3.
Despite the six-year-old not having any previous acting credits, the film’s director, John Rice, sounded enthusiastic about Psalm’s debut role, and Kim revealed after the fact that it was the production who had approached her about having Psalm join the cast.
As she arrived at the recording studio with her son, Kim made it clear that she would do whatever it took to support her children’s interests.
‘As crazy as my schedule is, I will always make time to do all the important things with my kids,’ she said.
Kim also made it clear that she wanted to make sure she was as involved in Psalm’s life as she had been with her three older children: North, 12; Saint, nine; and Chicago, seven.

She explained in a confessional that parents tend to dote on their first child and share everything they do, but they become less engaged and effusive with successive children. Supporting Psalm as he recorded his first film role seemed to be part of her way to combat that trend.
When they arrived at the studio, Psalm was informed that he had been given the choice role of a son of the two lead characters, the birds Red (voiced by Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis) and Silver (played by Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom).
‘I’m just so excited because he’s so excited,’ Kim said, as Psalm shared that Red was his favorite character from the films and the original mobile game series.
In a confessional interview, the shapewear mogul sang Psalm’s praises to explain why he was ready for his moment in the sun.
‘I feel like people don’t really know Psalm, but he’s the smartest, silliest little boy,’ she gushed. ‘He’s a total go-with-the-flow kid. I can give him Legos and say sit here for five hours, i have to work, and he’ll just be, “OK mommy.” Never says no, never goes against anything. Just is a dream child.
‘And [he’s] the most independent,’ she continued. ‘He loves to dance. He would never have a tantrum. He’s just so chill.’
Kim also praised Psalm’s ‘raspy’ voice as a reason why he was the right person for the role.
‘Your voice is so cool. I love your voice,’ the director said during the recording session.

Kim said parents tend to dote on their younger children less than their older kids, so she was trying to fight that tendency by supporting Psalm

Psalm sat behind microphones with Kim at his side. She praised him for being ‘the smartest, silliest little boy’ and for being ‘independent’ and ‘so chill’
‘It’s a really cool voice,’ Kim agreed.
Psalm sat in a recording booth with a microphone set up in front of him and his mom at his side, while the director and other creative staff sat on the other side of the glass in the mixing booth.
The director and other members of the production fed Psalm short lines, mostly reactions to other characters, and they went back and forth, coaching him to make his delivery more enthusiastic and natural.
In her confessional interview, Kim mused on the challenges of being a parent, as she wanted to keep her own interest and activities while still allowing her children to pursue their passions.
She said she ended up tailoring her life around her children’s schedules, which included making sure she was around for breakfast, to take them to school, and to support their extracurriculars, even though it meant that she would have to compensate with long nights to take care of her own work and study for her law school exams.
‘But it makes me happy,’ she added.
The Kardashians highlighted an example of Kim’s busy schedule in the same episode, when she and her mother Kris Jenner hosted a viewing party of her All’s Fair costar Glenn Close’s iconic film Fatal Attraction.
Kris had been shocked in the previous episode to learn during a set visit that her daughter had never seen the erotic thriller, which she considered one of her favorite movies.

Kim added that she and her sister Khloé were constantly being embarrassed by their mother’s over-the-top moments.
But Kim managed to cool everyone’s temperature down when she brought out a tray of Oreo Blizzards from Dairy Queen, as Glenn had told her on set that she loved Oreo milkshakes and ice cream.
‘This is the best day of my life!’ Glenn said in response to the sweet treat.
Kris also took a moment before the film to thank Glenn and Sarah and Niecy for being so kind to her daughter and for helping her on her most high-profile acting role to date.
‘It means so much to me that she’s having this experience that is life changing,’ she said while tearing up.
After the movie was finished, Kris declared, ‘It’s the best,’ and confidently gave it a 100 out of 10 rating.

‘We just loved getting the tea behind every last thing,’ Kim said.
While Kim and Kris were having the time of their lives hobnobbing with A-list actress, Kourtney and Khloé were having a tense argument.
The two had sniped at each other from afar in recent episodes after Kourtney removed herself from one of the family’s group chats because she found Khloé and other family members to be too negative for her to stomach.
After each was seen complaining to their friends about the other, Khloé decided to drop by Kourtney’s house to air out their grievances in person ‘so things can’t be misconstrued.’
Khloé found Kourtney sitting on the floor and eating lunch on her coffee table Japanese-style, and she asked out of politeness if she could leave her shoes on, but she was taken aback when her older sister told her to take them off.

Kourtney mentioned wanted to drive to Tennessee to look at properties with Travis, but Khloé felt embarrassed after she mentioned that she had never been to the state and got an unpleasant look from Kourtney.
That gave her the signal to bring up the group chat drama.

‘Shut up,’ Khloé shot back. ‘Like, the whole thing is so exhausting. Stop projecting or trying to break me down and overanalyze me.’

At one point, she said she felt like she might vomit, and when they stopped to grab waters along the way, she had to tell Travis to slow down so that she could drink her.
Afterward, she mused on the price of fame when they went to a popular beignet spot and she didn’t want to bite in and get her face covered with powdered sugar because so many people had started snapping photos and filming her inside the restaurant and outside the windows on the street.
Before Travis’ Blink-182 show that night, Kourtney admitted that she had never bothered to go to one of his concerts until several months after they started dating — even though Travis added that he had invited her several times throughout their pre-romance friendship.
Kourtney said she always knew her longtime friend was talented, before admitting that she also didn’t bother to watch any videos of Travis playing before their courtship.

They seemed to hint that Travis had been interested in her for quite some time before the took the plunge.
Kourtney noted that she was wearing the first ring he ever bought for her after they started dating on a necklace, and then she clarified that he had given her other gifts, including a vintage Sade T-shirt, when they were just friends.
But Travis had the best explanation for why Kourtney never took him up on his invitations to his shows until they got together, as he said with a sweet smile that they were waiting because she ‘wouldn’t be able to help herself’ once she finally went.
Khloé also had other shuttle diplomacy meetings with her family members.
During a visit to her mother’s house, Kris reiterated how she was trying to be more ‘zen’ about everything and not get too stressed out.
But then she showed how hard that was by revealing that her gardener had accidentally started a fire in her backyard by turning on her fire pit while it still had a covering on.
The cover was set on fire, and the flames then destroyed her patio furniture before it was put out.
‘I said in my new Kris Jenner voice this isn’t anyone else’s responsibility, so go help the gardeners clean it up,’ she told Khloé.

But Khloé reminded her mother that it wasn’t the gardener’s fault, as Kris had made the head-scratching decision to have a simple switch installed to turn on the fire pit, without clearly labeling it or informing all of her staff.
The switch had been unknowingly flipped on, which started the fire.
Later, Khloé had another poolside chat with Kourtney’s ex Scott Disick, with whom she shares her three oldest children.
Khloé needed more details on the plan he shared at the start of the season about possibly leaving California and moving to New York.
But after saying that he had recently built a guest house, he clarified, ‘So no, I’ve decided that I can’t really move to New York with my kids and everything.’
‘First of all, no one was going to let you move across the country,’ Khloé replied
Back at Kris’ house, she complained to Khloé about how one of her gardeners accidentally set her patio on fire by turning on her fire pit when it was covered up and setting the furniture on fire
But Khloé said it was her fault because she had a switch installed to turn on the fire pit that wasn’t clearly labeled, so it was flipped on by accident
Kris said she was trying to be more ‘zen,’ but she lost her temper over the incident. ‘Who the hell expects me to keep my cool while my back yard is on fire! What the f***!’
‘I know one person who would,’ Scott replied.
‘OK, but besides her,’ she added.
Khloé said she thought Scott might be moving for a woman, and he admitted that he was seeing someone exclusively in New York, but now he might just got a small place in the Big Apple to spend more time there without decamping from LA.
During their chat, Khloé called up her reclusive brother Rob Kardashian to get his take on Scott’s claim that there had been more plane crashes in recent months than in previous years.
‘What are you doing?’ Rob asked, and Scott got a raised eyebrow from Khloé when he replied, ‘Just sucking d***.’
Rob said he was certain there had been more recent plane crashes, and he blamed them on aliens, before launching into conspiracy theory diatribes about cookies that cause cancer due to toxic dyes.
Khloé said in a confessional that she wasn’t even sure if her brother was serious about his conspiracy theory beliefs, or if he was just messing with her.
‘I have so many documents,’ Rob said as evidence for his bizarre claims.
‘I didn’t even know you have a printer…’ Scott replied. ‘Dude, you’re on top of your game.’
The highlights for next week’s episode of The Kardashians teased Khloé and Kris taking a trip to look at potential burial plots, with Khloé getting annoyed by her mother’s constant complaining about the car.
Khloé and Kourtney also appeared to continue feuding over the ‘negativity’ compaints, and Khloé said she felt like she was being ‘gaslit.’
Meanwhile, Kim was seen hitting the books as she studied for the bar exam, which was only three months away.
She explained that other stressors weren’t helping her studies at all
‘I am feeling a little bit overwhelmed,’ she said. ‘Someone from prison said, “This person put a hit out on your life.”‘
