Kate Beckinsale shared an egg-cellent story about her daughter’s boyfriend on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday night.
The actress insisted Lily Mo Sheen’s partner, whom she did not identify by name, recently laid two eggs.
The wild anecdote came up as Beckinsale, 52, told Jimmy Kimmel about her “horrible” years losing both of her parents — and how the boyfriend delivered the only “bright spot” by laying “two eggs in a week.”
When Kimmel, 58, asked whether this was “a British thing” he didn’t know about, Beckinsale clarified that he is from New Jersey.
As the host continued spouting off clarifying questions, the “Wildcat” star admitted she doubted the story at first too and thought it could be “a little embellished” or a means of “attention seeking.”
“I was like, ‘OK, you’re trying to pull focus off the cancer.’ But it had a shell and a yolk,” she insisted. “Not out of his mouth or years, it came out the route it would come out a hen. … He went to the bathroom and then was very surprised to find that he had laid an egg.”
Kimmel, dumbfounded, asked, “Are you sure it wasn’t one of his testicles?”
Beckinsale went on to say that her daughter’s boyfriend “crushed it, to see what was inside” and discovered “a yolk … like a hard-boiled one kind of cooked inside him.”
The “Underworld” star added that she believes the wild story, which worked as a “distraction” during her personal struggles, because he seemed “so genuinely scared” both times it occurred.
She even showed Kimmel a photo, neglecting to give the audience a look because the image was “a little bit gross” and “quite medical.”
Kimmel’s jaw dropped as he was rendered momentarily speechless before dubbing the mystery man the Easter Bunny.
Beckinsale concluded the bizarre conversation by saying her daughter’s boyfriend had gone to doctors over the eggs, with many believing “it was some sort of complicated masturbation thing, which it wasn’t.”
Kimmel hoped to get the word out with the interview to figure out “why he’s producing eggs” — or spark interest in a reality show.
Social media users expressed confusion in the comments, with some believing Beckinsale “had a bet with someone to talk this nonsense.”
