Godzilla comes back to the Marvel Universe with a vengeance in his upcoming 2026 miniseries. Godzilla has always been a primordial force of nature and a living avatar of the atom’s destructive potential. In the Marvel Universe, where heroes are accustomed to battling eldritch terrors, the King of the Monsters still stands out as a massive threat.
In the Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe series, iconic powerhouses who routinely handle galaxy-spanning villains have repeatedly found themselves pushed to their absolute limits when facing Godzilla’s radiation-fueled fury. And even after his apparent defeat, the King of the Monsters promises to return even stronger.

Launching this February, Godzilla: Infinity Roar brings a massive five-issue expansion of the Marvel-Toho collaboration, catapulting the King of the Monsters into the deep reaches of space. The upcoming miniseries serves as a direct sequel to Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, beginning with Godzilla’s return with the help of Knull, the God of Symbiotes. Godzilla and Knull’s partnership threatens the Marvel Universe with its ultimate apocalypse scenario.
Godzilla: Infinity Roar comes with five breathtaking variant covers to celebrate Godzilla’s final bout with the Marvel Universe. These illustrations feature icons from both franchises, including Galactus fighting King Ghidorah and Captain Marvel clashing with Mothra. Whether more famous kaijus will be featured alongside Godzilla in the story is yet to be revealed.
Godzilla Has Become One Of The Toughest Marvel Villains
Godzilla Is Particularly Hard To Kill In The Marvel Universe
Few versions of the King of the Monsters have been as durable as Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe‘s Gojira. Whereas Godzilla usually gets incapacitated or killed by other kaiju, powerful mechas, or human weapons, Marvel’s Godzilla has overpowered the whole Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and a long list of Marvel characters, all at the peak of their power.
After surviving coordinated attacks from heroes and villains, defeating the Avengers’ mechas, brushing off an enlarged Hulk, getting sent to the Astral Plane, and being shot far off into outer space, Godzilla is back for vengeance. While the kaiju’s feud with the Marvel Universe takes place in its own timeline, it’s safe to say that this Godzilla is one of the most powerful and durable antagonists Marvel’s greatest icons have ever faced.
