A Singapore woman recently got attention after she posted a video about a cool feat: purchasing an almost S$1 million condo, by herself, at just 26 years old.
Chris, a producer and content creator, said in her Dec. 20 video that the purchase was a “dream come true”.
“I’ve always wanted to own my own house, my own property, by the time I turned 27. And at the end of 2025, I did it!”
She said that she bought the property herself, including making the approximately S$240,000 down payment entirely in cash.
Chris also did so without any help from her family, who only learnt about her purchase on the day of her key collection.
She is currently single.
12-18 hour days, 7 days a week
Speaking with Mothership, Chris said that she has been saving money from a young age.
She got her first job at McDonald’s at the age of 14, and has been balancing work and studies ever since.
Currently, she freelances in the photo and video space, in addition to working a full-time job.
She works about 12 to 18 hours daily, typically seven days a week.
“I even work during my gym workouts,” she quipped.

Strict budgeting
The content creator also lives on “a very strict budget”, tracking her spending down to the cent.
To save money for gifts and hobbies, she buys S$3 budget meals and redeems EZ-Link credits from the Healthy 365 app, she said.
She has also been investing since she was about 19 years old.
“The truth is, I just started young and had time on my side to build up funds,” Chris said.
“I yearn safety and stability, and my mum always instilled a sense of independence in me. Owning a stake in Singapore feels safe.”
