Shark Tank Australia investor Maxine Horne has scored a major real estate win after selling her deluxe beach house on Queensland’s coast for reported $28.5 million.

Horne, 62, co-founder of the Vita Group, bought the Noosa property as a vacant lot for $12.5 million in 2023.

She then built a sprawling three-level investment home which features six bedrooms, six bathrooms and dazzling ocean views.

No details of the purchase have been released, however an agent involved in the sale confirmed to The Courier-Mail that Horne achieved the highest property price in the area for 2025.

A sale of another luxury home in nearby Noosa Heads back in July fetched $26.845 million.

Horne’s home was passed in at auction on December 6, but the property sold later this month, shortly after completion.

Situated at Sunrise Beach, 160 km north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast, Horne’s dazzling resort-style mansion, known as ‘Maravilla’, is a stone’s throw from the ocean.

Designed to make the most of the stunning view, the home features soaring ceilings and expansive windows throughout.

The lower ground level features a wet bar and wine cellar, and an entertainment space that opens out to manicured gardens.

There’s also a ‘wellness’ space with a gym, plunge bath, spa, five-seat infrared sauna and change room.

The mid-level boasts a main bedroom that occupies an entire corner of the floor and features a dressing room and opulent en suite.

On the top floor, there is the kitchen and dining space which adjoins a pool deck and undercover al fresco terrace.

The infinity pool offers stunning views as well as two built-in custom day beds.

Other highlights include dazzling design touches throughout, such as French oak and grey marble in the kitchen and polished rendered walls.

Horne, an entrepreneur based in Queensland, who is reputedly worth $900 million, appeared on the 2024 Shark Tank Australia reboot.

A pioneer in tech retail, she opened Fone Zone, a mobile phone shop, on the Gold Coast in 1995.

Her Vita Group company later made earnings of $875 million annually.

She sold her IT interests in the company to Telstra for $110 million in 2021.

Horne’s company, which she founded with her husband David McMahon, was later taken over by Sonic Healthcare in 2024.

The high-flying businesswoman boasts a large real estate portfolio.

Last year she sold off a home in Brisbane’s New Farm for $18 million after snapping it up in 2016 for $10.5 milion.

She currently owns another Brisbane home in Newstead worth $5.125 million.
