Travis Kelce raved over Taylor Swift in a love letter he sent for her to read backstage during one of the final shows of the Eras Tour.
In the note, the 36-year-old NFL tight end looked back on the time he first became ‘mesmerized’ with her while seeing her perform live.
They famously became an item after Kelce saw one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in the summer of 2023 in Kansas City, where he tried and failed to land a backstage meeting with her in order to give her a bracelet with his phone number on it.
Kelce told the story to his brother Jason Kelce on their podcast New Heights, and after the anecdote went viral, it emerged Swift had indeed started dating him.
Now, on her new docuseries The End of an Era, Swift is shown last December reading Kelce’s letter before going on for one of her Eras Tour shows.
‘So many unbelievable memories on this tour but my favorite one is seeing you in concert for the first time and being mesmerized and swept off my feet by a woman who doesn’t even know me,’ Swift read aloud to her mother Andrea.

‘Selfishly I say thank you for creating this legendary tour and to Robert [Allen] for making you stop through Kansas City, Missouri, that night too in KC was the beginning of me meeting the love of my life,’ the note continued.
Swift read the remainder of the letter silently, but did exclaim: ‘Awww, my God!’ and then joke: ‘So much for no emotions on the last three shows.’
After Kelce first went to Swift’s concert in Kansas City in 2023, he said on New Heights that he was ‘disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I’ve made for her.’
The dashing athlete explained: ‘If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.’
His brother Jason, who at that point played for the Philadelphia Eagles, jokingly guessed that Swift refused because of her known fondness for his team.
‘Well, she probably just hasn’t gotten over the Super Bowl yet. She’s a big Eagles fan, so maybe she just made something up and just didn’t wanna talk to you,’ he quipped.
Swift announced her engagement to Kelce in August, in a viral Instagram post she captioned: ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’
Rumors have been swirling ever since about the potential date and location of the wedding, as well as who the celebrity members of the wedding party might be.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting information about who the bridesmaids will be, among famous pals like Lana Del Rey and Sabrina Carpenter.
Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes, is another possibility, as is the groom’s sister-in-law Kylie Kelce.
Kylie is the wife of Kece’s brother Jason Kelce, a fellow football star who played for the Philadelphia Eagles until his retirement from the NFL last year.
However Selena Gomez – Swift’s close friend since 2008 – has reportedly declined multiple offers to be a bridesmaid, with the Daily Mail exclusively revealing why.
The alleged demurral comes after Swift flew to Santa Barbara for Gomez’s wedding to music producer Benny Blanco in September and even delivered a speech.
Meanwhile her rumored wedding venue staunchly denied claims that she paid to swipe the location from another engaged couple on the date she wanted.
Speculation abounded that Swift, whose lucky number is 13, was hoping to marry Travis Kelce on June 13, 2026 at the ritzy Ocean House Hotel, a seafront property five minutes’ walk from her own Rhode Island mansion.
Her birthday is on December 13 and she has previously expressed a keen interest in ‘numerology,’ saying: ‘I love math stuff. I love dates.’
Swift has long felt 13 is her lucky number because of its repeated presence in her success, such as the fact that her first number-one song began with a 13-second intro or that her first album achieved gold status after 13 weeks.
Sources claimed Ocean House was already booked next June 13 by another couple, so Swift successfully offered them lavish financial compensation to make them give up that date and allow her and Kelce to take it, according to Page Six.
This month, a representative for the resort firmly repudiated the story to the Daily Mail, saying the hotel does not permit one client to buy up another’s reservation.
‘When clients and their families choose Ocean House as their wedding venue, it is an agreement and commitment between our team and that family,’ said Stephanie Leavitt, the hotel’s area director of sales and marketing.
In her new statement, Leavitt said: ‘Ocean House would not and is not allowing another party or entity to buy a wedding group out of a contracted wedding date.’
She noted further that the venue ‘prides itself on being rooted in client confidentiality, integrity, loyalty, and service,’ adding: ‘We appreciate the interest in our brides and grooms yet allow them to confirm their wedding location with who they choose.’
