A video of First Lady Melania Trump defending singer Rihanna amid her topless 2012 Esquire Magazine cover and revealing her true feelings about ‘sexting’ has resurfaced.
In 2012, Melania appeared on the Sway In The Morning show on SiriusXM, hosted by broadcaster Sway Calloway.
In a clip from the interview, which has recently resurfaced on TikTok, the First Lady was asked about Rihanna’s controversial magazine cover, and she admitted that she felt the singer posing naked ‘wasn’t a big deal.’
‘I didn’t see the pictures, I don’t what she’s showing, what’s she’s not showing, if she’s showing just the skin, [but] she has beautiful skin, and she should be proud of being a woman,’ Melania said.
‘I don’t think it’s a really big deal, I don’t know, maybe because I’m from Europe, in Europe it’s not such a big deal if you’re showing your body in tasteful ways, of course,’ she continued.
‘But here in America, it’s a bit different and a different looking into it.’
Of course, Melania, who hails from Slovenia, had a career posing in many magazines as a high-fashion model long before she became first lady, even posing nude in some cases.
In the past, her husband, Donald Trump, has slammed Rihanna, calling her 2023 Super Bowl performance an ‘epic fail.’

After Melania shared her thoughts on Rihanna, Calloway then asked her about her thoughts on people sending nude pictures to each other via text, to which she completely changed her tune.
‘Oh, that’s the most stupid idea,’ Melania said.
‘It’s not good, and especially the famous people, we know who, they are doing what they think will not get caught, but for everything [there’s] consequences.
‘I think you should keep that private for inside your home, if you’re not doing it professionally and if you’re doing it for a magazine, fine, but texting and sending pictures, maybe if it’s not your boyfriend and girlfriend, fine, but the rest, keep it private.’
Elsewhere in the clip, she also revealed her love of hip-hop music and shared that her son Barron, who was only six at the time, had sustained an injury while breakdancing at school.
‘I like it, and I think it’s great music, great for dancing, I love it,’ the author said about hip-hop.
Calloway then suggested that she should make Barron a ‘little break-dancer,’ to which Melania said that it was actually something he seemed to enjoy.
‘He came home the other day, and they had the music class, and he had a little boo-boo on the elbow,’ she explained.

Barron Trump is now 19-years-old and is a freshman at New York University’s Stern School of Business. He’s seen with his parents last November
‘I said, “What happened?” and he said, “We were breakdancing,”‘ Melania recalled of her conversation with her son.
She said that Barron had been breakdancing on the carpet when he got the ‘boo boo.’
The proud mom also gushed about how ‘independent’ and ‘tough’ Barron was during the segment.
In the comments section of the clip posted to TikTok, many noticed how ‘enthusiastic’ the First Lady appeared during the appearance, especially as she defend Rihanna.
‘This is the most enthusiastic I’ve seen her,’ one person wrote.
Another agreed, ‘Melania is a girl’s girl.’
‘Finally she said something nice,’ someone else cracked.
The resurfaced video comes just a few days after the First Lady and President Trump were mocked for their serious Christmas photo this year.

The photo was posted to the official White House account on X Tuesday morning, as the caption wished followers a Merry Christmas.
The image saw the two posing hand-in-hand in front of Christmas decorations, the American flag and flag of the President hanging in the White House.
Both the President and the First Lady were dressed in all-black, as they stared directly into the camera with completely straight faces.
Melania wore a long, sleeveless black dress complete with minimal pearl earrings and a diamond bracelet, while President Trump donned a black tuxedo complete with a black bowtie.
The president finished his look with a pair of shiny, black patent-leather dress shoes.
Although the photo was supposed to be centered around their Christmas message, many on X couldn’t help but point out the fact that the two didn’t appear to be super cheery in the snap.
Some took to the social media platform to make jokes about their lack of smiles, while others went so far as to say it looked like the couple was ‘going to a funeral.’
