Ole Miss’ dramatic Sugar Bowl win over Georgia ended in farcical fashion after stadium staff began setting up for a trophy presentation before the game was officially over.
As the Rebels celebrated what they thought was a 39-34 victory over the Bulldogs, college football referees sparked chaotic scenes when they put one second back on the game clock.
After bringing the stage out for the trophy ceremony, stadium officials were forced to quickly move it off the field before the two teams played out the final second.
Fortunately, their blushes were spared when Georgia failed to capitalize on the restart and Ole Miss held onto the victory.
