Sebastian Stan as Two-Face is depicted in The Batman: Part II fan art. Stan has been in talks to join the long-awaited sequel and is heavily rumored to be playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face, although this casting has yet to be officially confirmed.
In anticipation of this potential casting, Bosslogic has created art of Stan as Two-Face, surrounded by coins flipping through the air and the phrase “Heads or Tails?” The caption quotes Harvey’s iconic line from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight: “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Check out the art below:
While he is experienced at starring in blockbuster superhero projects, playing Two-Face would be a shift for Stan after playing Bucky Barnes, who has been on a heroic path for the past decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and shows. In 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he did play Bucky as the titular brainwashed assassin working for HYDRA.
If Stan officially becomes part of The Batman: Part II‘s cast, he would not only join Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, but likely Scarlett Johansson as well, who has been in talks for the sequel. Her possible role has also not been confirmed, although there has been speculation that if Stan is playing Harvey Dent, Johansson may be playing his wife, Gilda Gold.
Aaron Eckhart famously played Harvey Dent/Two-Face in The Dark Knight. Other previous portrayals include Billy Dee Williams in Tim Burton’s Batman, Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever, and Misha Collins in Gotham Knights. Nicholas D’Agosto was Harvey in Fox’s Gotham series, but this version of the character did not transform into Two-Face.
It’s unclear whether Stan’s version of the character would be when Harvey is District Attorney of Gotham or after his brutal transformation and villainous descent. If it’s anything like the fan art, this depiction will be the latter, as Two-Face leaves it up to fate and a coin toss whether others live or die. This DC villain role was also hinted at by Stan’s own stylist, who shared different Two-Face art on his Instagram stories.
The Batman: Part II is directed by Matt Reeves. Along with Pattinson as the eponymous character, the cast includes Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/the Penguin, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Barry Keoghan is rumored to be returning as the Joker as well. The sequel is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 1, 2027.
