Get ready for the photo dump of the biggest wedding of 2025, with Australian Matildas star Sam Kerr and new wife Kristie Mewis dropping more images from their New Year’s nuptials.

The couple rang in 2026 in style, getting married in Kerr’s home town of Perth surrounded by loved ones at a private estate.

Now Mewis has begun to release the couple’s images from the big day, including the preparation and lead up.

Images show the couple enjoying time at a local winery and also spending quality time with their son Jagger.

Western Australia turned on the weather with clear blue skies and sunshine as loved ones from family and friends to big name international football stars combined to enjoy the semi-rural landscape.

The couple also took time to enjoy local restaurants and the striking Perth sunset over the Swan River.

Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis met during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, where Australia and the United States crossed paths at the tournament.

They kept their relationship private for nearly two years before confirming it publicly during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in 2021, when Mewis posted a photo of them together on Instagram after Australia won bronze.

Since going public, Kerr and Mewis have become one of women’s football’s most high-profile couples, regularly sharing moments from international tournaments, league titles, and individual career highlights.

The couple were married on New Year’s Eve 2025 in a lavish yet deeply personal ceremony in Perth.

The Matildas captain’s most important accessory on the day was not jewellery or headwear, but a baby bottle for the couple’s seven-month-old son, Jagger.

In a moment that melted hearts, Kerr carried Jagger down the aisle herself, prompting Mewis to burst into tears as guests looked on.

The ceremony took place at the palatial Venetian-style Villa Dionysus in Perth’s Swan Valley, around 23 kilometres north-east of the CBD.

More than 100 friends and family attended the wedding, which unfolded in searing 35-degree heat on the final afternoon of the year.

Jagger arrived at the venue from Crown Towers hotel in a minivan with Kerr, her parents Roger and Roxanne, brother Daniel, and her nieces.

Kerr opted for a sharp tuxedo, while guests followed an all-black dress code that saw Matildas teammates turn out in striking formalwear.

Steph Catley, Mackenzie Arnold, Alanna Kennedy and Emily van Egmond were among the stars in attendance, with musicians playing violin and cello during celebrations.

During the ceremony, Mewis was seen tenderly touching Kerr’s arm before the pair shared a kiss to cheers and applause after saying “I do”.
