A self-professed Kmart Australia mega fan has discovered the budget retailer’s new Mediterranean-inspired kitchenware range – and predicts it will be the next to ‘fly off shelves’.
Victorian woman Eliza Reid, who regularly shares shopping finds to her popular @bargain_homewares Instagram account, recently spotted the charming new range in store.
The retailer’s ‘luxe’ line of dinnerware, platters, servingware and table linen all feature colourful illustrated designs and food-themed motifs.
‘Kmart have just dropped the cutest range of Mediterranean kitchenware,’ Eliza said in a video.
‘The designs on them are just so cute.’
The vibrant tableware features repeated themes like tomatoes, lemons, sardines, olives and chillies in attractive, eye-catching patterns.
Ready-made for summer entertaining, these designs feature on a wide array of dining products such as serving trays, plates in various sizes, bowls, placemats, tablecloths, napkins and even statement candles.
Eliza’s video highlighted the three picks she couldn’t resist snapping up and taking home when she was recently in store.
Eliza Reid was delighted by Kmart Australia’s new Mediterranean-themed kitchenware items – including these adorable Tomato Salad Servers, $10
The Victorian woman, who shares shopping finds on her popular @bargain_homewares account, picked up Kmart’s new Mediterranean Side Plates $12 and Printed Spoons $7.50
Her first must-have was one of the range’s bestsellers – a four pack of Mediterranean Side Plates.
Priced at $12 for the set, Eliza couldn’t contain her excitement over how ‘cute’ the ‘designs’ were – with each of the four plates having a different individual motif: tomatoes, olives, sardines or chillies.
‘I also picked up the four-pack of Printed Spoons,’ Eliza added, holding up the $7.50 purchase.
Comprised of two spatulas and two spoons, the Kmart fan noted that the back of each utensil was printed with similarly themed designs to the plates she’d chosen.
The final item she couldn’t go past was the adorable Tomato Salad Servers, $10 – which have a whimsical cherry tomato design handle.
The statement servers are crying out to be on a table accompanying shared dishes like a big bowl salad or pasta – and are guaranteed to be a talking point.
Eliza’s video also noted that several items she had her eye on weren’t even in her local Kmart store – but looked superb online.
This included an oversized Mediterranean Serving Bowl, $16, along with a four-pack of cherry-tomato printed napkins, $5.
For those creating a Euro coastal-inspired tablescape, the cotton napkins – listed online as a bestseller – would tie in brilliantly with the vibrant printed Mediterranean Tablecloth which is $10.

Other attention-grabbing statement pieces from the range include the sculptural tomato-shaped Salt and Pepper Shakers, $6, and the Mixed Fruits Enamel Platter, $16.
And the perfect final touch? A ceramic Striped Candle in three designs. Choose from olive, pomodoro tomato or limone – each priced at $13.
Eliza concluded with her urging followers to get in quick either in store or online ‘because these are definitely going to sell out’.
Kmart Australia’s Buyer Sarah Dummett told Daily Mail that their new Mediterranean-inspired dining collection ‘conjures up images of the Amalfi coast in summertime, but without the airfares’.
She noted that the kitchenware motifs of tomatoes, olives and lemons are set against a backdrop of white, meaning you could easily ‘mix and match with basic dinnerware items’.
However, for those fully on board with embracing an all-Mediterranean aesthetic, the range is affordable enough that you could create an entire tablescape just with these pieces.
‘If you do decide to go all-in on the range, prices start at just $3,’ Sarah noted.
