My colleague Ward Clark refers to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as “The Great Walz of China,” and it’s chef’s kiss. Walz is not only anachronistic but represents a system that is fast crumbling under the weight of time and corruption. Walz is also as thick as some of those crumbling bricks. One wonders whether Walz has cabinets full of Stupid that he pours milk over and eats liberally every morning. No matter what he does, he just keeps verbally tromping through biological waste matter and tracking it all over the carpet. He’s messy, and that mess, along with the stench of it, follows him wherever he goes.
The latest representation of this is Walz’s remarks after Saturday’s obstruction of a Border Patrol operation in Minneapolis, which resulted in the tragic death of anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti. As my colleague Nick Arama covered, Walz blithely compared his death and the “fear” being felt by children in the city to Holocaust martyr and diary author Anne Frank.

The death of Alex Pretti is a horrible event that should never have happened. You can also still support ICE, law enforcement, and the surge in Minnesota while acknowledging that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s communication reflected poorly on this federal law enforcement-caused death. But reaching to an atrocity in world history that is uniquely linked to the Jewish people, then making a false equivalence in order to score political points is beyond tone deaf: It’s downright callous. It’s along the lines of what American descendants of slaves (that would be me) feel when someone as dumb as Jasmine Crockett compares ICE enforcement to “slave patrols.” Not only do statements like this prove you’re a terrible person with limited intellectual capacity, but that you are culturally and historically illiterate and should not be taken seriously by anyone.
If only.
The American Holocaust Museum was rightly disturbed by Walz’s statement and took to their X account to condemn his remarks.

Walz deserves all the heat he is getting for making that backward statement, and he should be ashamed. Let’s hope he apologizes, particularly in light of Tuesday’s Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Walz just needs to resign from his office. He’s basically capitulated to the Trump administration on Operation Metro Surge. Border Czar Tom Homan is taking the lead in Minnesota, and he goes for an effective operation, not social media theatrics; so, he will be a no-nonsense bulwark and will get the job done. Despite Walz’s best efforts to distract, destroy, and deter, the surge in Minnesota will be completed, the corruption in Minnesota will be uncovered, and if it is found that Walz has connection to it, he will be prosecuted. For now, if he chooses to go gently into that good night, he might still get a few speaking engagements to pay for those expensive lawyers he’s likely going to need, regardless of what happens.
In Minnesota — and the rest of America — the man is toast.
