Today show star Savannah Guthrie has pleaded to “bring her home” in a faith-driven message after her mother, Nancy, was “abducted,” from her home as she slept, according to Arizona authorities.
“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant,” Guthrie wrote on Instagram Monday night. “Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”
The 84-year-old vanished from her home in the Catalina Foothills, just outside of Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday night.
“I believe she was abducted, yes,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told CBS News Monday. “She didn’t walk from there. She didn’t go willingly.”
Nanos earlier said Nancy Guthrie was “limited in mobility,” but was “of great sound mind.” Authorities have shifted from a search operation to a crime scene, Nanos said.
Savannah Guthrie was absent from her show on Monday morning. During the episode, co-host Jenna Bush Hager said that Guthrie’s mother is without medication, “that she needs for survival.”
