The National Football League hasn’t much cared what conservatives or anyone who actually likes America thinks in a long time, and they just emphasized that with Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show performance, which was even worse than we thought it would be.
Heading up to the performance, the predictable cries of “racist!” were screamed at anyone who had a problem with his selection, but it wasn’t that Bad Bunny sings in a language other than English. It’s his hatred for the United States of America.
I love Arthur Brooks—this is a dishonest take. Conservatives aren’t mad because Bad Bunny sings in Spanish. Shakira sang in Spanish at the SB, it wasn’t a problem. We’re mad because he hates America, wears a dress like a weirdo, and won’t even stand for the national anthem. pic.twitter.com/SlDAKquiFG

Fast forward to the performance, which was almost entirely in Spanish . . .
🔥🚨BREAKING: Bad Bunny has started his Super Bowl LX performance entirely in Spanish. He has yet to speak english during his time on the field. pic.twitter.com/PMcIvPf7x7

. . . and he ended his performance with 3 words in English, “God Bless America,” but he didn’t mean it the way one might hope he did.
He then listed mostly Latin American countries as performers pranced around holding those flags, then said in Spanish, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love” before spiking a football that had “Together, we are America” written on it. Meaning, together all of these countries are America.
Nope.

My friend, California attorney Laura Powell, elaborated:
Bad Bunny was criticized for refusing to stand for the song “God Bless America” during a Yankees game in October.
During the Super Bowl halftime show today, he said “God Bless America,” but don’t be fooled into thinking this was some kind of conciliatory gesture.
He proceeded to list names of countries in what Spanish speakers consider a single continent called “América,” making it clear that he intended to shift the meaning of the phrase from an expression of patriotism for the United States to praise for mostly Latin American countries.
At least Lady Gaga sang in English.

Anthony Scaramucci, who hasn’t been right about anything, really, continued being wrong.
Bad Bunny is crushing it he’s inclusive and he’s real and he’s got a tremendous heart and soul. A great decision by the NFL to bring him on tonight.

Former RedState editor Kira Davis nailed it.
This Super Bowl halftime show is most definitely a slap in the face to America. On purpose. Shame on @nfl Shame on you.

And then she nailed it harder.
Allie Beth is right. That’s exactly what it felt like. I told my husband “This is a flag planting” It didn’t feel like a “cultural experience.” It felt…rude. I don’t know how else to describe it. It felt like @nfl telling the average American to f*** off. https://t.co/hITSUCiapO

I think support for ICE just went up 20 points

I’ve heard from two friends so far whose first language was Spanish and they couldn’t understand what Bad Bunny was saying, and it looks like they’re not alone.
I watched the Bad Bunny halftime show looking for what he might say or do…
I’m Puerto Rican and I didn’t understand half of what came out of his mouth so I’m still not sure 😂

Bad bunny sucked but you knew that already I peaked in during @TPUSA show which was really good. Bad Bunny plays to a nation the left wants but most of the nation doesn’t. Shame on @nflcommish for taking this great game into AOC territory.

President Trump posted about it on Truth Social:
The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This “Show” is just a “slap in the face” to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Of course, Green Day also performed, as Friend-of-RedState John Ondrasik reminded me.
This may be the greatest self own in rock history. https://t.co/UESsFPrT8C

I know every halftime show can’t be legendary, but maybe we could set the bar just a smidge higher?
Here are a few I particularly enjoyed. First, Prince:
There have been some terrific #SuperBowl halftime shows like Michael Jackson Rose Bowl 1993. That was one of my favorites
ZZTop was awesome
Prince in 2007 also was very entertaining Remember this?pic.twitter.com/vj2ujW40NR

Michael Jackson:
In this NFL Super Bowl night we remember the legendary Michael Jackson performance in 1993. That performance set the standard for every #SuperBowl halftime show that came after. The GOAT. pic.twitter.com/9tEpzq8Dxe
