Marc Anthony addressed the Beckham family drama for the first time after being dragged into the bombshell feud.
The Latin superstar, 57, spoke out three weeks after Brooklyn Beckham, 26, posted a scathing six-page Instagram statement in which he severed ties with his famous parents, Sir David, 50, and Victoria Beckham, 51.
Brooklyn accused his mother of ‘hijacking’ his first dance with wife Nicola Peltz, 31, at their 2022 wedding, revealing how Anthony — who performed at the reception— called him on stage only to announce Victoria as his dance partner.
On Monday, Anthony described the ongoing feud as ‘extremely unfortunate’ and said the way it has played out ‘is hardly the truth’ in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
‘I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family. They’re a wonderful, wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m godfather to Cruz,’ the singer explained, referring to Brooklyn’s younger brother, 20.
‘I’m really close to the family,’ he added. ‘But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out — but [how it’s playing out] is hardly the truth.’

Shared across multiple Instagram stories, Brooklyn claimed his parents had been ‘trying to ruin’ his relationship with Nicola and controlling him ‘for most of my life’.
According to Brooklyn, Anthony called him on stage during the wedding and then called for Victoria to come dance with him, stealing the moment that had been carefully planned for Brooklyn and Nicola.
Reports say Anthony even invited ‘the most beautiful woman in the room tonight’ to join him, and it wasn’t the bride Nicola, but Posh Spice, leaving guests completely aghast.
Nicola was left devastated by the three-minute dance to a love song performed on stage by Anthony, and left the room in tears.
Her family went after Nicola and Brooklyn looked humiliated and also went to find his new wife after the ‘awkward’ dance took place, said DJ Fat Tony who performed at the wedding.
Unsurprisingly, the internet went wild, turning Jennifer Lopez’s ex into meme gold as fans mercilessly roasted his unexpected role in the Beckham wedding drama.
One viral post showed a clip of Joe Biden looking shocked, captioned: ‘Marc Anthony realizing he’s caused half of the Brooklyn Beckham drama.’
Another joked: ‘If you’re gonna announce who’s the most beautiful woman at a wedding – it’s THE BRIDE. Full stop.’

He’s been a longtime friend of the family, with David and Victoria reportedly bonding over their love of his music.
The trio often show up for each other at events – like when David surprised Marc during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023.
David is also godfather to Marc’s son, Marquitos.
In his post, Brooklyn fired shots at his mother, claiming she danced ‘very inappropriately’ at his wedding.
‘My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,’ he wrote.
‘She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.
‘We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,’ he added, referencing the couple’s August 2025 vow renewal, three years after their original Palm Beach wedding in April 2022.

Brooklyn also claimed: ‘Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.’
‘They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated,’ he continued.
‘My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.’
Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson has also broken his silence on the Beckham feud.
The business magnate, 83, spoke about the family drama when he did a Q and A at WSJD’s Invest Live in West Palm Beach event on Tuesday.
Nelson said: ‘My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story and that’s not for coverage here today. But I’ll tell you my daughter is great, my son-in-law Brooklyn is great and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.’
