A 54-year-old man and his 52-year-old wife were found dead in their semi-detached home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Feb. 11.

According to Malaysian police, the man was believed to have stabbed his wife to death before turning the knife on himself.

A letter found at the scene, believed to be written by the deceased husband, read, “I will never hurt my wife again. This will be the last time.”

Misunderstanding led to tragedy

The bodies of the husband and wife were found in their home in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, by local police on Feb. 11, New Straits Times reported.

The wife was found with 13 stab wounds in total, with 10 in the neck.

She was found lying in a pool of blood.

The man was also found with a stab wound in the neck.

The tragedy reportedly happened following a misunderstanding between the two, China Press reported.

It is believed that the husband took his own life after killing his wife.

At the scene, Malaysian police found a knife and a letter, believed to be written by the husband.

The letter read, “I will never hurt my wife again. This will be the last time.”

Following post-mortem examination, Malaysian police updated on Feb. 13 that the wife sustained 89 injuries in total, Bernama wrote.

Some of the wounds are believed to have resulted from her attempts to defend herself, according to China Press.

Husband known to be doting and affectionate

Prior to their deaths, the husband was known to be doting and openly displayed his affection for his wife, often sharing their travel photos on Facebook, China Press wrote.

The wake of both the husband and wife were held in their home, and the funeral procession took place on Feb. 15.
