Iran's State-Controlled Media's Chilling Announcement of the Death of Ayatollah Khameini – RedState

What a whirlwind of a news day! We began Saturday with the U.S. president announcing on social media that the country’s military and the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) had taken to the wild blue yonder, and began air assaults on Iran. The result; decimation of weaponry and other tactical targets, and a wide swath of the country’s leaders, including the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. My colleague Jennifer Van Laar wrote that breaking story around 5 PM Eastern.

UPDATED: President Trump Confirms ‘Major Combat Operation’ in Iran

We saw video of dancing in the streets across the world, Iranians who had been kept as prisoners in their own country for decades by a brutal regime, unless they were already forced to flee for their lives. Whichever the circumstance, they rejoiced, and cried at the same time for those who have paid the ultimate price for a (hopeful) free Iranian future.

We heard insider details from President Trump, and the condemnation of the combat actions of all parties by the United Nation’s Secretary General, António Guterres.

And we saw the white-hot anger – the lashing out – by whomever was controlling Iran’s military early in the combat, with missiles flung at U.S. bases and allies.

One thing we had not heard was an admission by Iran that Khameini had been killed. That’s now changed. Take a look at how the state-controlled broadcast media mouthpiece for the Iranian mullahs announced the leader’s death, on live TV.

Watch:

Chills. You don’t need to understand the language to get what is being said there. It’s raw and real and human. And with that, RedState will continue to bring updates to you all as the story develops over the coming hours and days.

Keep our allies around the world, and our great servicemembers and their families, in your prayers. And may God bless the United States of America, and all she stands for in her 250th year.

Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s leadership, the warrior ethos is coming back to America’s military.
