Saturday Night Live finally returned after a long hiatus, and it did not disappoint.
After briefly pausing production for the Winter Olympics, Saturday Night Live comes back stronger than ever. Heated Rivalry’s Connor Storrie melted hearts with his performance throughout the night. His co-star, Hudson Williams, also made a surprise appearance in a sketch that took place at Rockefeller Center’s ice skating rink. Check out our highlights of the night:
Connor Storrie’s SNL Monologue
Storrie delivered one of SNL’s most charming monologues yet, opening up about how Heated Rivalry changed his life. He spoke about growing up in Texas and dreaming about this kind of moment since he was 12, while slipping in jokes about being a diva. The actor was also joined by hockey players Jack and Quinn Hughes, as well as Hilary Knight and Megan Keller.
Hudson Williams Joins SNL Cast At Rockefeller Center
In a sketch at Rockefeller Center, Tommy Brennan nearly had a picture-perfect proposal for Veronika Slowikowska. Unfortunately, he was rejected, and what began as a serious discussion about their future was interrupted by a group of merry skaters (Storrie, Ben Marshall, and Mikey Day) having the absolute time of their lives, which distracted Brennan’s character. And things only intensified after Williams made his entrance.
SNL’s Weekend Update Delivered
Saturday Night Live’s most recent Weekend Update with Colin Jost and Michael Che brought both good and bad news, but mostly bad. However, the segment itself was actually put together very well. It even included a new segment by Jost called “Hear Me Out,” where he defended Stephen Hawking’s alleged association with Jeffrey Epstein.
This Week’s SNL Flops
Although this week’s Saturday Night Live episode was incredibly strong, there was only one sketch that fell short. However, it was by no means awful, just not as good as the other skits of the night.
SNL’s Donald Trump Cold Open
It’s not surprising that this week’s cold open was about Donald Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) and his attack on Iran. While most expected SNL to approach these events in the opening, it was still presented in the same stale format that the show has used to mock the President of the United States for years now.
