The devastated family of Madeleine Ross have filed a lawsuit against a Florida medical examiner’s office to shield sensitive details of her death from the public, the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal.

Ross, sister of the popular streaming personality Adin Ross, died aged 36, in Broward County Florida, on January 15.

TMZ reported Madeleine’s death on March 3, citing information from the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office.

But her family have accused the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office of leaking the information to the news outlet ahead of the final medical report being finished or even shared with the family.

The Daily Mail can reveal Madeleine’s brother Adin, who has millions of online followers, alongside their parents Mark Ross and Jayne Frankel, have now filed a lawsuit in Florida seeking to block the release of records relating to her cause of death.

They say they are bringing the lawsuit ‘to protect their privacy rights from those seeking to exploit the tragic passing of their beloved daughter.’

The family say they had already suffered ‘significant harm’, when less than two months after losing their ‘beloved daughter and sister’ they were ‘forced to publicly navigate’ Madeleine’s death ‘catalyzed by the Broward County Medical Examiner’s disclosure to TMZ and the foreseeable media coverage that followed.’

They insist the medical examiner’s officer confirmation to TMZ unleashed a tidal wave of news coverage and social media speculation surrounding her death.

‘Upon information and belief, one or more individuals within the Broward County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed both that Ms. Ross was related to Adin Ross and that Ms. Ross had died to TMZ on March 3, 2026, prior to the medical examiner completing their work,’ the lawsuit adds.

‘At the time of that confirmation, no valid public records request could have been fulfilled because no final, signed, or releasable record existed.’

The Daily Mail contacted the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office for comment but did not immediately hear back.

In addition to a news article, TMZ also published an Instagram post, which the family said was flooded with vile comments by social media users accusing Adin of ‘sacrific[ing] his sister for fame’.

The family went on: ‘Others asked why it couldn’t have been Adin passing instead of Madeline or insinuated that Madeline’s death was the result of Adin allegedly criticizing Israel. Members of the Ross Family, including Adin, are Jewish.’

They are now begging a Florida court to halt the release of any records relating to how she died or to significantly redact any sensitive information in the event they are released.

‘Further publication of the details regarding Ms. Ross’s passing will cause further irreparable harm to the Ross Family, compounding the harm that the family has already suffered due to TMZ obtaining and publishing the information early,’ the family say.

Jeffrey Neiman, of Neiman Mays Floch & Almeida, PLLC, and who is representing the family, said: ‘The Ross family is navigating an unimaginable loss.

‘Alarmingly, information about Madeline’s passing was publicly confirmed to a media outlet before the family had even received the final medical examiner’s report – depriving them of the opportunity to decide how to proceed in light of this tragedy.

‘The family firmly believes that sensitive information about Madeline’s passing should be handled with the utmost care and respect – particularly by those entrusted with investigating it – not only during the ongoing investigation, but long after it concludes.

‘Florida law recognizes the sensitivity of death related records, and the Ross family is simply asking the court to ensure that those protections, as well as Madeline’s dignity, are respected.’

Adin, 25, is brother to three siblings, including influencer Naomi Ross, who has more than 127,000 followers on Instagram under the handle @naomzies.

Adin boasts millions of followers across a string of streaming and social media platforms.

On YouTube, he has 4.6 million subscribers; and on Discord he has nearly 250,000 members on his Adin’s Planet server.

He has previously interviewed notable names such as Drake, Young Thug, Andrew Tate and President Donald Trump, who he spoke with in August 2024.

Ross made headlines for the latter interview, which took place during the stretch run of the 2024 presidential campaign.

On the livestream, Ross – who’s friendly with Barron Trump – offered to present the now-president gifts such as a Tesla Cybertruck.

During the interview, Trump told Ross, ‘Maybe someday you’ll be president,’ to which he said, ‘I don’t know about that – I’ll leave it to Barron maybe one day.’

Less than two months later, the popular online personality admitted he regretted dipping his toe into political waters.

‘Now that I look back on it, I really, really wish I never got into like politics,’ Ross said during a livestream on September 26.

Ross said he felt that he had been a victim of identity politics to an audience that was not familiar with him prior to the Trump interview

‘So many people just tie me to it, Ross said. ‘And no matter what, they don’t even get to know who I am.’

Ross opened up about his political beliefs – or lack thereof, aside from Trump – in the discussion.

He said at the time, ‘I’m getting older, I don’t think I’ll ever care enough again for any other politician ever in the future.

‘At the end of the day, humans, we’re all humans.’
