Police have taken out an apprehended domestic violence order against Nova FM breakfast host Tim Blackwell to protect his ex-wife Monique.
The matter was before Newtown Local Court on Wednesday morning, with Magistrate Alexander Mijovich granting an interim ADVO.
According to court documents seen by the Daily Mail, the conditions of the ADVO prevent 44-year-old Blackwell from assaulting, harassing, threatening or intimidating Monique.
He is also not permitted to stalk his former wife, or ‘intentionally or recklessly destroy or damage any property or harm an animal that belongs to or is in the possession of Monique Bavonia Blackwell’.
The Mail does not suggest Blackwell is alleged to have done any of these things, only that they are the standard conditions of an AVO.
The matter will next be before the court on April 15.

Blackwell’s lawyer, Paul McGirr of McGirr & Associates, told the Mail on Thursday: ‘All I can say is that it will be vigorously defended.’
‘I’m not going to comment on the specifics except to say the matter will be vigorously defended and it appears that the AVO is being used as a weapon as opposed to a shield,’ added Mr McGirr.
‘There is certainly not even any violence being alleged against him and it’s an extremely weak application.
‘I’ve told Mr Blackwell to keep doing what he’s doing and focus on his work and I’ll handle the rest.
‘Certainly as apprehended violence matters go, I consider this to be a very weak application and it appears there are [family matters] in the background.’
Hours after the interim ADVO was granted, Blackwell – who was recently promoted from Nova’s national drive shift to Sydney breakfast – was spotted partying with the likes of Kate Ritchie and Abbie Chatfield while attending a Keli Holiday concert.
Blackwell did not appear to have a care in the world as he arrived for a Nova Red Room concert at Selina’s in Coogee, Sydney, with his younger girlfriend Lizzie Baxter, a former Fitzy and Wippa producer.
Baxter and Blackwell made their red carpet debut at the 2024 ARIA Awards, about a year after Monique announced their split.

The media personality seemed to be relatively at ease on Wednesday, just hours after the courts told him to stay away from his ex-wife.

The pair rubbed shoulders with other radio stars, including fellow Nova host Ritchie and podcaster Chatfield, as they watched Keli Holiday put on a concert.
Daily Mail has reached out to Monique for comment.
Monique, 45, confirmed she had split from Blackwell in December 2023, with the former couple sharing three children together, Bo, 12, Alfie, nine, and Artie, six.
The entrepreneur and yoga instructor broke the news via Instagram.
‘Not all good things end, but this has,’ she captioned a gallery of photos of herself with Blackwell in happier times.
‘Thank you in advance for your messages of love, support and sadness at the news that Tim and I are no longer together.’

Blackwell remained silent on Instagram for over a week after his wife’s announcement. He wouldn’t address his marriage split directly until September 2024.
He opened up about his separation and co-parenting on his podcast, Introducing with Tim Blackwell, during a conversation with singer Missy Higgins.
The radio host admitted he felt like a failure as a parent when his marriage to Monique ended – but stressed their story wasn’t over yet.
‘Especially as co-parents, we’re still in the relationship. It just looks different. I think we’re working harder on the relationship we don’t have anymore,’ he said.
Blackwell and Monique first met in 2002 after he moved to Perth to launch Nova 93.7’s drive show.

‘It’s the cheesiest radio-nerd story ever – one of the biggest days for my career and certainly the biggest day of my love life,’ he told Stellar magazine in 2018.
