Missing Woman Found Dead Beneath Massachusetts Garage? Suspect Arrested

A Massachusetts man has been arrested after a friend contacted police to say he’d told them he’d killed a woman, and investigators found a body right where he said he’d placed her.

Shawn Sullivan, 41, is charged with murder in the death of a “Jane Doe” because the remains have not yet been positively identified, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said. But investigators believe they are the remains of Jill Kloppenburg, who was last seen in January 2025 and reported missing a month later.

Ryan said the tipster called police in Nashua, New Hampshire, on March 10 and said that Sullivan had told him he killed a woman named “Jill.”

Sullivan “claimed that he had shot her and then buried her under the floor in the garage,” Ryan said.

Detectives from multiple agencies converged on Sullivan’s home in Tyngborough with a search warrant and ultimately found a plastic bag containing the remains buried beneath the concrete.

Investigators say Kloppenberg and Sullivan were acquainted and that she had visited his home.

Ryan said that Sullivan is likely to face other charges, including including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and improper disposal of human remains.

He is expected in court for an arraignment on Tuesday.
