The Last Airbender Sets Third Official 2026 Release With New Adult Character Designs

2026 is turning out to be a massive year for Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The fantasy franchise has set a third official 2026 release with its new adult character designs at the center, another big moment for the series. There are multiple major releases coming for The Last Airbender franchise in 2026 and beyond. This includes Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 on Netflix, a live-action remake of the original show. Another prominent release is Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, a movie set many years after the events of the original series with the cast as adults.

Now, a new product has been listed on Amazon tied to the release of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, marking the third major release from the franchise in 2026. The product is a book titled Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender: The Art of the Movie. With text by Ramin Zahed, the art book contains exclusive content, which includes a behind-the-scenes look at production via the art of the film. This includes concept art and art of new locations featured in the film. The 256-page book is available for pre-order now, and will be released on November 10, 2026.

The listing for the art book comes after Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender was leaked in full online in April 2026. While the leaker was later arrested, and is expected to either be fined $50,000, jailed for seven years, or both, the movie has since spread across the Internet. It’s an unfortunate development for the movie, but one that hasn’t altered its planned release in any form. The art book will make for a fitting companion to the film, arriving one month after the movie’s planned release on streaming.

The coinciding releases for the series near the end of the year make for a perfect, nostalgic follow-up to the original series. So too does the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 on Netflix, which is set to adapt “Book Two: Earth” from the animated TV show. The new batch of episodes arrive on June 25, 2026, four months before Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. Season 3 of the live-action TV show has also been filmed already, confirming the future of the franchise beyond 2026.

While the art book will cap off 2026 as a big year for the franchise, its further expansion is only just beginning. A third animated series, titled Avatar: Seven Havens, is set to debut on Paramount+ in 2027. It follows Pavi, the Avatar after Korra, in a post-apocalyptic world looking for her lost sister. Adventures with the original Team Avatar, coupled with the expansion of the series’ history after Aang, prove the series is further developing in a variety of compelling ways.

The Art of the Movie book is a promising encapsulation of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, a release focusing on the film while being another major product from the franchise as a whole. With so many important releases for Avatar: The Last Airbender coming soon, it seems the franchise will maintain its success with stories new and old.
