Courtney Clenney, an Onlyfans model, has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of her boyfriend in Miami after initially claiming self-defense of hers.
The former influencer was seen in a previous mugshot from 2020 for her DUI.
Her arrest was confirmed Wednesday afternoon by her defense attorney Frank Prieto, the Miami Herald reported.
Clenney, who was taken into custody and taken to a mental institution after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in her apartment, was taken into custody Wednesday in Hawaii.
“I am completely shocked, especially since we were cooperating with the investigation and offered to hand her over if she was charged,” Prieto said.
“We hope to clear her name in court.”
Clenney has warrants for his arrest issued in Texas, California, with an investigation into Obumseli’s death launched in Miami.
She will eventually be extradited to Miami-Date County to stand trial.
This comes as the Obumseli family attorney, Larry Handfield, claimed on April 27, 2022 that Courtney Clenney would soon be arrested following her death on April 3, but walked a free woman for months after the murder.
The Sun exclusively revealed Clenney’s mounting legal troubles when a bail forfeiture order was issued for her arrest in Travis County, Texas on July 1.
Officers said the violence was caused by a domestic dispute and Clenney was immediately cleared.
According to close friends, Obumseli had recently moved to the area and was living with Clenney in the One Paraiso apartment building, located in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood.
Neighbors in the building told the media that the couple had a long history of domestic disputes and that there had been multiple calls for police to intervene.
Her family’s attorney says new information has come to light, including an ex-boyfriend who claims Clenney was abusive, while she too had made public comments about her behavior with men.
Handfield also emphasized that she was not arrested despite the fact that she allegedly had an open warrant for her arrest in California.
“They never did a check,” she said.
“There are things that should have been done and weren’t. How can you conclude that a person is innocent in a case like this in less than 24 hours? It’s shocking.”
Clenney was taken into custody at the police station after the stabbing, where police say she threatened to kill herself.
