Simone I. Smith Marriage and Family
Simone and LL COOL J have been married for more than three decades and have four children: Najee, Italia, Samaria, and Nina. Nina graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2023 and is a music performer. They also have three grandchildren from their eldest daughter. The family is not shy about expressing the significance of faith, communication, and forgiveness in helping them maintain their marriage.
Cancer Diagnosis and Survival
She was diagnosed with stage III chondrosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, in 2004. She underwent surgery and two and a half years of rehabilitation, learning to walk once more.
LL COOL J stuck by her, often prioritizing family over professional life. Simone I. Smith is a 19-year survivor today and still inspires people with her story of hope and strength.
Entrepreneurial Career and Jewelry Line
In 2011, Simone launched Simone I. Smith Jewelry, fueled by her cancer experience and love of designing soulful, effortless pieces. Her signature lollipop pendant, “A Sweet Touch of Hope,” symbolizes strength. She expanded her line to include a number of different styles for women and men and donates a portion of proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

Simone partnered with Mary J. Blige in 2018 to launch the Sister Love jewelry collection, celebrating strength and empowerment for women.
