Who is Laura McCulloch ?
A desperate search is underway for a missing Australian actress and singer in the United States, and their last known encounter was arranged online.
Laura McCulloch, 37, was last seen at a Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles and was due to meet someone for an arranged date on ‘Bumble or Tinder’ on Friday, August 12.
The ‘bubbly and vivacious’ Victorian woman hasn’t been seen since, she missed work, her yoga class, other regular ‘engagements’ and even deleted her dating app.
Family
Her friends and family are understood to be frantically conducting their own missing persons search and have claimed that Los Angeles police still did not consider her a missing person case as of Tuesday night.
“We have had nothing but rejection and dismissal from the police,” his sister Clare McCulloch said in a social media post.
Frustrated by the lack of help from the LAPD, the family started a GoFundMe page to help pay for a private detective, organized by her cousin Merrie McCulloch.
Her distraught family and friends say Laura’s behavior is “very out of line.”
Friends of Mrs McCulloch have been desperately trying to find her and have started an online campaign.
In an online post, they claimed, “She was last heard from before she went to a Bumble or Tinder meeting.”
She was also said to have been wearing ‘a blue blouse, a red skirt, and tan shoes’ before the date.
The family has also claimed that the Santa Monica restaurant where she had met her date refused to release security footage without a police warrant.
It was the Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ at 231 Arizona Ave Santa Monica (3rd St Promenade).
Her concerned sister, Clare McCulloch, shared her post, adding, “If you’re in LA or know someone in LA, please share this everywhere on all your networks!”
‘Please, please help us find my sister!’
Late Tuesday night, she posted: “Keep saying those big prayers for my sister’s safe return.”
She was also said to have been wearing ‘a blue blouse, a red skirt, and tan shoes’ before the date.
