Steve McMichael began his football career as a defensive tackle for the Texas Longhorns from 1976 to 1979, during which point he was a consensus first-team All-American and the defensive MVP of the Hula Bowl in 1979. Steve was also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on July 17, 2010. He was selected out of Texas by the New England Patriots in 1980 but was released before his second season. He became a starting defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears after signing as a free agent in 1981, and he helped them win the Super Bowl in 1985.

From 1990, when his playing time was reduced, he maintained a run of 101 games. With 1112 sacks in 1988, he led the Bears. In 1989, he made a total of 108 tackles. For the 1986 and 1987 seasons, he was selected to the Pro Bowl teams of the NFC. He rose to fame in a 1991 game against the New York Jets, when he caused a Blair Thomas fumble and recovered it at the New York 36 with the Bears down 13-6 with 1:54 remaining. Steve was the toughest athlete he had ever coached, according to Bears coach Mike Ditka in 2005.

Wrestling career

After his NFL career ended, he appeared at ringside for Lawrence Taylor at WrestleMania XI in Hartford, Connecticut on April 2, 1995. He was hired by World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1995 and provided guest commentary on the 20th episode of “Monday Night Raw.” On the 4th of September 1995, he made his WCW debut as the pro-babyface color commentator on the launch of WCW Monday Nitro.

In April 1996, Ric Flair began beating on Steve’s wife Debra, who sat ringside during “WCW Monday Nitro.” With his partner Kevin Greene, Steve challenged Ric and Arn Anderson to a contest.  The Great American Bash hosted the contest. During the bout, Ric’s attendants, Woman, and Miss Elizabeth chased Debra and Kevin’s wife to the back. Jarrett was expelled out of the Horsemen, and Debra soon left Steve for Jarrett in July 1997. On the 21st August episode of “Clash of the Champions XXXV,” Steve gained his revenge by defeating Jarrett for his WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.

In November 1997, Debra hired Goldberg to find Steve, and he became one of Goldberg’s first victims. Goldberg stole McMichael’s Super Bowl ring, which he returned weeks later after hitting him with a pipe. They had a feud with the nWo until McMichael’s final appearance on “Nitro” on February 8, 1999. Later, at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s premier pay-per-view, Bound For Glory, Steve returned to professional wrestling to referee the Monster’s Ball Match. His extraordinarily sluggish cadence for a three count was remarkable in this match.

As of now, Misty has not won any award or recognition in her career. But, her husband, Steve has won some of them in his career. Steve was named NFL Pro Bowler (1986, 1987).
