Teresa Priolo was raised with her younger sister named Bridget in her hometown of Clifton by her parents Bob and Tina Palmeri. Teresa credits her parents for instilling the “can-do” attitude in her and her sibling. She also stated that she inherited her father’s sense of punctuality, and the notion of the importance of community, thus growing up in New Jersey, Teresa was very much involved in her community, and during her high school and university years she did a lot of volunteering and activism. Having matriculated from high school, Teresa enrolled at Fairfield University in Connecticut in 2001, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Communications.
Career Beginnings
After graduating Teresa’s first job was at RDF Media, a British production company, working for several years on the network reality television program called “Wife Swap”. The reality show revolves around two families, usually with very different lifestyles and from different social classes, who swap wives/mothers for the period of two weeks. Even though working on the show was a great way for Teresa to gain the necessary television experience, her goal was to work in news broadcasting. Therefore, she applied to be an intern at several news stations, and was hired by WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut as an assignment desk assistant. This was her first exposure of television news and a great opportunity to learn the ropes and climb the career ladder. After her internship was over, she was hired by Idaho Falls’ KIDK-TV.
Work at Freedom Communications and WRGB-TV
Priolo then moved to Albany, where she started working for Freedom Communications as a reporter and morning news anchor. After that, her next job was at the CBS-affiliate station WRGB-TV, located in Schenectady, where she spent four years, and it was during this time that she became famous through covering a number of high profile stories and events. Among them were the mass shooting that happened at Binghamton’s American Civic Association and its aftermath, and Governor Eliot Spritzer’s removal from office after a scandal that involved elite prostitution.
Fox 5 News and “Good Day New York”
In March 2012, after four years in Schenectady Priolo joined Fox 5 News as a general assignment reporter. She stated that being able to do the job she wanted in the city she loved and grew up in was a dream come true for her, career-wise. Among the notable events she has covered during her time here are the tragedy in Newtown, Super Bowl XLVIII and Superstorm Sandy. She also works as the anchor on the morning news show “Good Day New York”, and speaking about her work, Priolo says that social media has changed the game as they enabled more involvement and direct influence from the audience. Regarding her personal life, the reporter and news anchor has been married for nearly six years to Daniel Aviles, and on the 17th February 2018 the couple welcomed a son named Matthew. The family, which also includes a rescued cat named Ida and a dog named Duke, currently resides in New Jersey.

Despite being a full time news reporter, mother and wife, Teresa recently added the title of podcast host to her resume. In 2018 she launched a weekly podcast called “All Good In The Motherhood with Teresa Priolo”., which features various themes related to pregnancy, motherhood and parenting in general. Every episode features a guest speaker, and covers topics such as working out during pregnancy, breastfeeding, dealing with illnesses, etc.
