Markie Post is an American actress who is probably best known for her role of Christine Sullivan in the 1980s TV comedy series “Night Court”, but she is also widely recognized for starring in 1980s and 1990s in television series such as the “The Fall Guy” and the “Hearts Afire”. Some of Markie’s most memorable big screen appearances include the 1998 comedy movie “There’s Something About Mary”, and more recently, the 2017 movies “Sweet Sweet Summertime” and “Four Christmases and a Wedding”.

Marjorie Armstrong ‘Markie’ Post was born under the zodiac sign of Scorpio, on the 4th November 1950 in Palo Alto, California, USA, the middle child in the family of poet Marylee Post, and a scientist and nuclear physicist Richard Freeman Post. She is of American nationality and white ethnicity. Alongside her two siblings, Markie grew up in Walnut Creek where she attended Las Lomas High School, and  upon matriculating enrolled at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. However, she later transferred to Pomona College in Claremont, California, before she returned to Oregon and graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Upon graduation, Markie dived into the moviemaking industry, and in 1976 began her career in the editorial department of the television series “Family Feud”. She then worked as an associate producer on the “Double Dare” TV series, before deciding to continue her career in front of the cameras. Markie Post’s debut on-camera appearance came in 1978, as one of the models in the TV game-show “Card Sharks” before making her debut acting appearance by appearing briefly in the TV comedy movie “Frankie and Annette: The Second Time Around”. In the course of the next several years, Markie honed her acting skills through a variety of supporting roles in TV movies, TV series and movies, including “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century”, “Semi-Tough” and the “The Gangster Chronicles” among many others.

To greater prominence Markie came in 1982, when she was cast for the role of Terri Michaels in the ABC TV action drama series “The Fall Guy”, in the course of the next three years appearing in over 60 episodes through its four seasons. In 1983 and 1984, Post occasionally appeared in the “The A-Team” TV series, while her career breakthrough came in 1984 when she was chosen to portray the recurring role of Christine Sullivan in the NBC TV sitcom series “Night Court”, appearing in 159 of its episodes through the course of nine seasons of the critically acclaimed show. This particular engagement hugely helped Post to gain an impressive dose of popularity, and set her career on the path to stardom. Some other highlights in Markie’s professional portfolio from this era include popular TV game-show programs such as “Go”, “Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour”, “Body Language” and “Super Password” as well as “Blackout”, “The $10,000 Pyramid” and “The $25,000 Pyramid”.

Between 1992 and 1995 Post starred as Georgie Anne Lahti Hartman in the “Hearts Afire” TV series, while from 1999 to 2000 she portrayed the recurring role of Julia Whitney in the “Odd Man Out” TV series. Another memorable role in Post’s career occurred in 2002, when she was cast for the recurring role of Lily Reid in the popular TV comedy drama series “Scrubs”.

In 2010 Markie got the recurring voice-acting role of June Darby, in the TV animated series “Transformers Prime”, for which she was honored with the BTVA Television Voice Acting Award nomination in 2013. In 2014 she starred as Betsy in the TV comedy series “Rack and Ruin”, while between 2014 and 2017 Markie portrayed Barbara ‘Bunny’ Fletcher in the popular TV crime drama series “Chicago P.D.”. Some of Post’s most recent acting engagements include appearances in the 2017 critically booed family movie “Camp Cool Kids”, as well as in 2018 TV comedy horror series “Santa Clarita Diet”.
