Arrested and Charged
Douglas, 19, was arrested on the morning of May 12 at 9:48 a.m. m. at 58000 Card Sound Road, Key Largo, Florida.
The sheriff’s department said in a statement that Sgt. Robert Dosh noticed a Toyota Sedan speeding up and driving recklessly down Card Sound Road at 7:47 a.m. m.
Dosh attempted to stop the car with his lights and siren, but the car initially continued before coming to a stop at an intersection.

According to the sheriff’s website, Douglas works as a housekeeper and lives in Homestead, Florida, about 20 miles from where the arrest occurred.

The saloon notes on its website that they are: “Just about the only thing on Card Sound Road.”
Florida law makes Douglas hit-and-run a felony that carries some “severe penalties” that can include a license suspension of between one and five years.
Douglas is due to appear in court in Monroe County on June 14.
The statement from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office prompted comments such as: ‘A 19-year-old is called a bucket list? In my time that was called… GOALS, dreams, aspirations. But I guess if you’re going to drive like a fool, you’re hurtling yourself to death, so that may be the appropriate word after all.
In 2016, 102-year-old Edie Simms was arrested by police officers in St. Louis as part of a bucket list solicitation. When asked if she enjoyed the experience, Simms said, “Oh yeah, handcuffs and all,” KLPR reported at the time.
