A Texas girl, who was the centerpiece of a viral #StandWithSophie campaign, has gone missing. Sophie Long made headlines in 2020 after alleged abuse videos of her went viral. In her videos, she was seen asking for help and accused her mother of being part of her sexual abuse. However, the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety have declared the ten-year-old missing.
Sophie was reported to her father, Michael Long, when he disappeared. Michael is her non-custodial father of hers and, according to previous reports, has been fighting a custody battle for her three children with Kelly Long for years. In 2020, a GoFundMe was also launched to help you with legal funds. The girl’s mother, Kelly Long, is alleged to have subjected her to domestic violence, s*xual grooming and abuse / rape.
But Kelly denied all the allegations. A family spokesperson said police were tipped off after egregious allegations were made and an alleged fraudulent GoFundMe was started. Describing the circumstances, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated in a statement: “The missing girl is believed to be with her non-custodial father, Michael Long, and perhaps en route to Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Mexico or Argentina.
Michael Long is possibly driving an off-white 2010 Ford Edge pickup or gray pickup with dark windows, an NRA decal, and a black grille on top.
