Who is Tyshaun Holloway ?
A NYPD cop on patrol in Brooklyn split his head when a thug wearing tie dye, who has already served time for assaulting officers in the past, smashed a bottle over his head, according to a new video.
The disgusting display of police hatred was captured on the officer’s body camera just after 4:45 a.m. Sunday when the cop was smoking a cigarette alongside his patrol car on East 51st Street and Church Avenue in East Flatbush.
The video, which has no audio, shows the suspect, identified by law enforcement sources as 27-year-old Tyshaun Holloway, walking towards the police officer and the two exchange words.
Holloway, from Hackensack, NJ, wearing a tie-dyed T-shirt, makes a comment to the cop; then all of a sudden he finishes and hits the officer on the head with a glass bottle, the video shows.
The video ends with the wounded officer’s partner chasing Holloway down the block.
The officer was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated for a cut to the left side of his head, which required four stitches, according to police.

Arrested and Charged
It was unclear what words were exchanged.
Holloway is charged with assaulting a police officer, threatening, resisting arrest, obstructing government administration, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
He resisted arrest by “flailing and swaying,” a police spokesman said.
The NYPD released the video on Monday, calling the incident an “unprovoked attack.”
“In the early hours of the morning yesterday, @ NYPD67Pct cops were in a fixed position to address community concerns when they were suddenly attacked with a glass bottle in an unprovoked attack.”
Suspect
“The suspect, who has been arrested for assaulting officers twice in the past, was quickly caught.”
Holloway was arrested in September 2016 for allegedly attacking two police officers in the Bronx in two separate incidents.
He had just been released from supervised release on February 28 after serving two years in prison for the assaults, according to state prison records.
Holloway was also arrested in a pair of robberies and terror threats in Harlem in 2017.
