Iran hanged four individuals early Monday morning on security charges that included “collaborating with Mossad”, Israel’s spy agency.

The executed individuals were from the Kurdish ethnic minority. They were identified as Mohsen Mazloum, Mohammad Faramarzi, Vafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fathi by the Mizan news agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.

They were also alleged to have been involved in attempting to sabotage an industrial unit in Isfahan, although details were not provided by Mizan.

Last month Iran also executed four individuals on similar charges of espionage for Israel. The executions and a broader crackdown on opposition and separatist groups come amid concerns in Tehran that the war in Gaza could foment insecurity in Iran.
