Wow: Adele addressed her cancelled residency as she took to the stage at her BST Festival in Hyde Park London on Friday explaining how she is utterly

Her highly-anticipated Las Vegas residency was canceled earlier this year just 24 hours before she was set to hit the stage at Caesar’s Palace.

And Adele addressed the issue as she took to the stage at her BST Festival in Hyde Park London on Friday night, saying she is utterly ‘mortified’ by it.

The singer, 34, explained how she failed her fans and the last thing she wanted was to ‘let people down’.

The Grammy-winning star was performing her first UK gig in five years as she told the crowds that she ‘takes my singing very seriously.

She told the crowd: ‘I know that a lot of things have happened with this album and I’m sure a lot of you feel that you’ve been let down and stuff, which is mortifying really and upsetting to me.

‘But I take my singing very seriously and the last thing I would ever want to do is let people down but I had to do that, it just wasn’t right.’

Earlier this year, a source claimed Adele ‘will do everything she can’ to reschedule her Las Vegas residency as soon as possible.

The singer was forced to postpone her shows at Caesars Palace after COVID hit her backstage team, but Adele is determined to reschedule the shows as quickly as possible, according to the insider.

The source said in January: ‘There are two slots in this year’s calendar, from the end of February to the start of May, and from the middle of June to the middle of September.

‘But if they can’t work then it could be 2023 by the time they’re rescheduled. The rest of the weekend dates in the year are taken up by other acts including Sting and Rod Stewart.’

Adele has a jam-packed work schedule, but she’s determined to take to the stage in Las Vegas.

The insider added: ‘Adele’s schedule is mammoth and it makes rescheduling a challenge but she is devoted to her fans and will do everything she can to get them back in the diary quickly.’

Also during her Friday Hyde Park concert Adele bought her show to an abrupt halt after she was alerted to fans that they needed help.

In the footage taken by a member of the audience, the singer could be heard belting out the first line of Skyfall when she noticed them waving.

Adele immediately stopped singing and sent security into the 65,000 strong crowd to help, as she urged people to ‘move out of the way.’

The megastar could been seen pointing out into the audience and shouting: ‘Stop stop stop, security?’

She also checked in on the unwell show-goer, shouting from stage: ‘Do you need security’s help? They’re coming.’

Attempting to direct the medical team to the person in need, Adele added: ‘Right in the middle there, can you see where they are all waving?’

As medics attempted to reach the guest, Adele could be heard asking crowds to move out of their way.

It comes as Adele was overcome with emotion as she took to the stage in front of a 65,000 strong crowd, as she returned for her first concert in five years.

The singer, who wore an elegant black halter neck off-the-shoulder gown, held back tears as she addressed the audience and told them she was ‘f**king s****ing herself’ after performing her first song.

Standing in the early evening sun, the sequinned detail on her dress glistened as she performed, with Adele shouting ‘I’m so happy to be back’ as she looked out across the mammoth crowd.
