Andrew Tate And His Brother Tristan’s Detention Extended Till February 27 2023

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who were both arrested in connection with human trafficking and sexual assault cases, have been sentenced to serve time until February 27, 2023. The brothers’ detention was extended a second time by a Romanian court on Thursday, January 19, 2023, as the police gather evidence against them. On December 29, 2022, Tate was arrested along with two co-accused, and the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) raided their home and discovered six women being held as prisoners and exploited.

A 30-day extension was initially granted to their detention by the Romanian courts following the discovery. Despite being banned from social media sites including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube due to misogynistic remarks, the former kickboxer has millions of online followers. Despite his detention, his Twitter account has been reactivated in November. A raid on Tate’s house last month led to his arrest after he moved to Bucharest five years ago. In their application to extend the detention period, prosecutors did not present any new evidence, according to a lawyer representing the Tate brothers.

The Romanian Court Extends The Police Detention Of Andrew Tate And His Brother

The two Tate brothers have been in custody since December 29, and are suspected of rape, human trafficking and the organization of an organized criminal group that sexually exploited women by forcing them to generate pornographic content. The DIICOT raided the Tate brothers’ properties in December 2022 and found six women being held across different luxury properties and compelled to perform pornographic acts under threat of violence. Further, police found weapons and several stacks of cash during the raid, which allowed prosecutors to apply to hold the accused for 30 days at the detention center. It is suspected that two of the six victims were misled into believing they were entering into a marriage/cohabitation relationship to get into Romania. The influencer’s Andrew Tate luxury properties and several cars, including his infamous Bugatti Chiron, were seized by police on January 4, 2023, according to Spy News. The country’s Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ANABI) recently announced that it seized $3.95 million worth of goods and money.

The millionaire brothers asked the courts to end their detention on January 10, 2023 but were denied. The former kickboxer was also rushed to the hospital around the same time because of lung nodules. Tate is known for his former kickboxing career and is a British-American social media personality. The online rants he posted about female submission, violent attacks against women, and male dominance brought him fame. As a result, he was banned from all major social media platforms. Although Tate made misogynistic comments and used hate speech, he has amassed a huge fan following, especially among young men attracted to his alpha masculine lifestyle and ultra-luxury home. All allegations against Top-G, 36, a reference to Andrew Tate, have been denied. Young men gathered on Ermou Street in Athens, Greece, on Sunday, January 15, 2023, to protest his arrest. A Romanian lawyer said Tate could face up to 20 years in prison if found guilty.
