Chuckwagon Driver Car Accident

Chuckwagon Driver Car Accident: Second-generation Chuckwagon driver Cody Ridsdale recently got into an accident. The unfortunate streak for this Chuckwagon racer doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon! Cody Ridsdale’s horse was hurt during the fourth heat of a chuckwagon race on Thursday night. Despite Cody’s wounds, the accident’s true victim had to be put to death. During the Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon race on Thursday night at the Calgary Stampede, an accident happened.

Chuckwagon Driver Car Accident

The Stampede sent a group of vets to treat Cody Ridsdale’s horse as soon as it was realized that it had been hurt. The owner “took the compassionate decision to euthanize the horse following veterinarian assessment,” the Stampede claims. These activities involve a high level of risk because of their nature. When horses and waggons are near to one another during this high-speed activity, one horse falling or getting hurt might easily start a chain reaction. Following this year’s most recent horse tragedy, chuckwagon operator Chad Harden is no longer allowed to take part in Calgary Stampedes events. He was also given a $10,000 fine by the event’s organizers, who emphasized that they had a “zero tolerance attitude for catastrophes that could have been avoided.”

The driver of the horse that died in the chuckwagon races on Thursday was fined $10,000 and disqualified from participating in future Calgary Stampedes. The third fatality occurred at the Rangeland Derby this year. Evan Salmond’s lead horse crashed to the ground at Stampede Park during Heat 7 of the competition after hitting the guard rail. A fine was imposed after an independent chuckwagon safety panel looked into the incident. According to safety panel member Mike Whittle, “we don’t think that Chad knowingly planned to do this,” he stated on Friday. “We have determined after conducting an investigation that the driver erred in judgment. I guess that’s all I have to say.”

Late night, Stampede organizer release a statement

A statement in which they claimed that Harden, of Mulhurst Bay, Alberta, interfered with another driver, Danny Ringuette, causing a third waggon driven by Salmond to crash into a rail. Salmond was raised in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, where he was born. A chuckwagon team apparently collided with Salmond’s to cause the accident that happened on Thursday. This footage of a chuckwagon race crash might be upsetting to some viewers. Please understand this before watching.

Some viewers may find the graphic content in this film upsetting. A driver was fined and excluded from the Calgary Stampede for the remainder of the event on Thursday after a horse died during a chuckwagon race. If Harden is eliminated, he won’t be able to take part in the rest of the Calgary Stampede. However, if he chooses, he will be allowed to apply for reinstatement as early as September 1. Whittle wasn’t certain whether or not he would submit an application. “He’s processing what we’ve told him,” the commissioner continued. Whittle stated that he had never heard of such a ban before.

There is zero tolerance for experienced drivers

According to the Calgary Stampede’s zero-tolerance policy for “preventable accidents and injuries,” the safety of the animals is of the highest significance. Salmond received a rather minor wound. Thankfully, none of his other horses suffered major injuries. He declined CBC’s invitation to speak with them. Ringuette and Salmond were given average timings in order to maintain their positions going into Friday’s races. Harden, a three-generation chuckwagon racer, won the 2009 Rangeland Derby and is the event’s champion. At the 2012 Calgary Stampede, his waggon overturned, killing three horses. He said then that the creatures were like family to him and that their deaths were “devastating.”

Harden could not be reached on Friday since he had already left the rodeo grounds. His long-time friend and fellow driver of the same kind of waggon, Chuck Glenn, has seen this situation play out numerous times in movies that Glenn has seen. He said that Stampede shouldn’t have been prohibited as a result because it was “just a chain reaction of unfortunate location.” Glenn claimed that the Calgary Stampede “makes these attempts to show that they want the drivers to be safe, they want the animals to be safe.”

“I consider Chad to be one of the top drivers currently competing. His entire life has been devoted to it. His father, his grandpa, and the rest of his ancestors carried out the task on pony waggons.” According to the source, Harden used to promote basketball to children by bringing a mascot to charity events. According to former chuckwagon winner Kelly “The King” Sutherland, Harden’s mistake on Thursday night was probably a “career-ending play.” Sutherland thinks Harden felt he was sufficiently ahead of his adversary as he came around the curve after seeing the race on film.

A $10,000 fine will have a significant negative impact on drivers who already spend a lot of money caring for livestock, he claimed. “It would take a lot of time to serve a [ban] for the remainder of one’s life. If a man gets convicted simply on the basis of his criminal history, I think there is always a chance that he will be given a reprieve “Sutherland joined the conversation to complete it.

It’s difficult to see:

Warren Connell, CEO of Stampede, expressed his “deep grief” on the horse’s passing. His unique message to the audience at yesterday night’s performance was to say, “I realize it isn’t easy to witness what you saw.” I am constantly reminded of the significance of our mission by watching the faces of our elite athletes, committed employees, and enthusiastic volunteers.

The 2019 Stampede will be in full swing from now until Sunday

Outside a Calgary bar, chuckwagon operator Cody Ridsdale was killed when he was hit by a car. A number of people, including a chuckwagon driver, were struck outside a Calgary bar by a driver who police are calling intoxicated. The wife of a man killed in a hit-and-run outside Ranchman’s on Saturday, Katrina Ridsdale, shared her husband’s story on social media earlier this week. Five other people were also involved. She asserts that he suffered numerous serious injuries as a result.

“In addition to the three broken spinous processes in T5-7, he also has three broken ribs. Lucky to still be alive, he. The other five of our friends, who were also hit, are very fortunate “on Facebook, she stated The Calgary Stampede responded that they were aware of the incident and that Ridsdale was involved when CTV News enquired about it. Cody was discharged from the hospital, but he won’t be behind the wheel this evening.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT IN CHUCKWAGON:

In her message, Katrina also thanked the other competitors who volunteered to help as soon as they became aware of the predicament. I know our boys are receiving the best care, and our barn team was fed and watered as well, she said today. For us, the wagon community has been a true blessing. Chanse Vigen will be the driver of Ridsdale’s wagon on Sunday because Cody needs time to recover, according to Katrina.

Cody “will not be returning to the wagon box,” she said further. “I can’t begin to tell you how much we adore each and every one of you or how appreciative we are of your help. Just saying thanks for another trip around the sun to everyone and my closest friend.” Police detained the car’s driver there, and charges are still pending.
