A suspected arson attempt just missed a TikTok family from Welling, London, on Wednesday night (14th July). In the wake of the incident, CCTV footage has emerged showing the suspects. They were all sound sleeping in the semi-detached house where Nick Smithy lives with his partner Jess, their four children (Jack, Amelia, Isabella, and newborn Teddy), and Jack’s girlfriend Amy at the time. Everyone was able to escape and no one was hurt. The dogs of the family were likewise unharmed.
In response, the London Fire Brigade said:
An automobile fire had spread to the house’s exterior, and our crews were dispatched to put it out. Some mobility scooters had caught fire and started emitting flames and smoke outside the building. Prior to our arrival, everyone had been evacuated and staff worked hard to ensure that the building and its neighbors were safe.” Moreover, our fire-detection dogs were on hand to help identify any flammable compounds that might be present.
